Ok, how about Miami going into the shitter right after joining the ACC? They were winning 10+ games and playing for national championships in the Big East. Miami joins the ACC and haven't sniffed a BCS bowl game since. What about nothing programs like Rutgers, South Florida, Louisville and Cincinnati suddenly being in the national title hunt in recent years? Or the second best team in the Big East this year getting their butts kicked by N.C. State of all teams? West Virgnia and Pitt are the only football programs in the Big East that are even half way respectable historically. All the other teams are garbage.

2006: Florida had a better record and tougher schedule than Michigan.
2007: LSU had a better record and/or a tougher schedule than anyone else up for consideration.
2008: Florida and Oklahoma had better records and tougher schedules than anyone else up for consideration.
2009: Texas and Alabama have tougher schedules than anyone up for consideration.

#1 and #2 have been clear-cut every single time since 2005. That is, unless you just prefer to pretend that something is controversial.

Since the ACC expanded, it has been better than the Big East once. In fact, in 2006, if you took away the bottom four of the ACC, the Big East was still better than the ACC's top 8.
