Your not biased are you?

I have no idea what happened I wasn't there. But this doesn't sound like a Hank Tierney team. Even against Hammond our hated rival there wasn't any trouble.

Dude I said I wasn't there, wtf do you want? I am just saying it doesn't sound like a Hank coached team. But I am not saying it didn't happen. About half of Ponchy's players are democrats so it could have been their fault. But from some of the other comments in this thread it seems like Central has a history of this stuff.

I heard this morning that the coach that got punched is having issues with hearing out of one of his ears. I hope this doesn't affect his hearing for the rest of his life. Supposedly, the Ponchy player was arrested. Not sure if that is true but just what I heard.

As long as we are talking about bias and glass houses.

Just so I can wrap my head around this:
2009 - Central fights against Zachary (post-game)
2010 - Central fights against Denham (pre-game)
2011 - Central fights against St. Amant (player ejections)
2011 - Central fights against Denham (post-game)
2011 - Central fights against Walker (pre-game)
2012 - Central fights against Ponchatoula (post-game)

There seems to be a common denominator here...

I was at the game but must have been walking out the gates when the fight happened after the game happened. The second quarter Central scored 38 points. Right before half it seemed they scored 17 points in the last two minutes. On the first drive in the 3rd quarter instead of just sitting on the ball, Central threw a couple deep passes and actually scored two TDs that were both removed due to penalties. After this drive the players really started to go at each other. Ponchatoula didn't seem happy that Central was still airing the ball when they could just run and kill time. I don't blame them but their players were starting to try and pick a fight after each play. That is when a player from Central and Ponchatoula were ejected. Later on in the 4th, Ponchatoula players seemed to be going after some of Central's better players and that is when they got pulled.

I dont understand why they would get mad about this

It was 35-21 before they scored 17 points in the final like 3 minutes of the half (Still have no clue how they kept getting the ball back.)

It was a close game and Ponchy was putting up a good game on offense and the way they play (triple option) the best thing to do is get up on them big so they cant come back. PLus it was the first half, you cant really run up the score in the first half

If youve got an offense that can go the distance on any play, you dont sit on the ball before half in the playoffs

This was the first drive in the second half.

That list is inaccurate.
The 09 Zachary fight was when Zachary students rushed the field. There was no fight last year at Denham. I don't have time to discuss the others. Central did not fight Friday night. It was an isolated incident. The player for ponchatoula was not arrested. He should have been though.

That list is inaccurate. I don't have time to justify Central's actions in the others.

FIFY

The list is spot on.

The teams and coaches did have to be separated last year at DS after Central players (understandably so) celebrated after a thrilling win.

The Zachary fight did not start with a student on the field, it began when some low character players on Zachary threw a punch in the post-game handshake. Once that began a student did come on the field and was hand-cuffed after he did.

Central is the top 5A football program in the area the last 5 years. People have a hard time dealing with that. At the same time, Central's football players and team play on the edge of cockiness and sportsmanship. Reminds me a lot of Zachary Baseball's reputation.

I have no problem with the way that Central plays the game. Sid knows how to put on a show. As long as they aren't breaking rules I say let them have fun. But prepared for the consequences. Some people don't like to be taunted during the game when they're losing.

But Central fans are obnoxious and show a lack of intelligence when they constantly point the fingers at others and say what "THUG POS" the other guys are. In that regard you are like your worst enemy...Denham Springs (always on their high horse).

Sid Edwards is a great man and a great leader of men. He has been successful everywhere he has stayed. He has always loved the Miami Hurricanes and his teams have always been showy. The problem is all the Republicans in Central can't admit that their favorite team looks like Da' U!

This post is in no way a knock on Central Football...I'm a big Sid Edwards fan, but it is on their ignorant fans.

ETA for sushi's sake: Central is the top 5A football program in the area the last 5 years.
