Cardboard cutouts or people in the stands.

Looks so creepy. Watching pro lacrosse right now before hockey and I was shocked the stands were full. Zooms in and its clearly cardboard cutouts. Funny how people have trouble watching a game on tv if it’s obvious there aren’t any people actually watching there. Life Fans still make a huge irreplaceable difference in sport atmospheres.

Paired with the fake crowd noise, it does feel very surreal. The crowd noise in baseball games is very realistic. So realistic that I am starting to wonder if they have been doing it the whole time. Not for big moments and reactions to specific plays, but the general dull roar of the crowd throughout the game.
