He been a team captain and deservingly so, but I don't get why people take shots at this guy or dump on him. He's been a really good QB for corch Jerry's Cowgurls since he got drafted by them in the 4th damn round. 
I'd say they've gotten much more value out of him then they thought they would. Dallas' offense is always moving the ball under him, last season was the first time he's ever turned the ball over or thrown INTs like that in his career, but you'd swear that he does it all the time going by the reactions from people. People also moaned about the 40 mil a season he's getting, but look at how many QBs are getting paid more than that now since him and his agent negotiated that deal. I think him and Patrick Mahomes are far down on the list of top paid QBs in the NFL which is ridiculous, especially for Mahomes. I just think the guy gets a raw deal from people for whatever reasons.

I didn’t realize Dallas chooses 3 captains each week, I think it’s a McCarthy thing. I’m a Dak fan, I just noticed that he didn’t have the C on his jersey yesterday

It's supposedly something about it that gives new, other people a chance to become and develop as leaders now. Before this change, Dak Prescott and Zack Martin were regular captains of the offense.
