They publicly said they are giving him all of his 5 million MIL already…..

If they don’t he would drag them through the mud even more than they already are. No way they won’t

That's how I feel. I think the pearl-clutching over this has been laughable considering the money being thrown at these players now, and the gambling culture that has been fomented. Betting lines run constantly during games. Betting apps are advertised constantly on TV. Hell, Gameday does their Superdog segment weekly. But everybody feigns shock and awe about how this could happen. Texas Tech, Sorsby, and his advisors handled this beyond poorly, but there seems to be a bloodthirsty effort to kill Sorsby's career before it starts, just because of the way it was handled. The Lions had that WR a couple of years ago who was placing bets from the team facility. He got released, but went to Canada and is still playing for the BC Lions today, so the CFL "upholding the integrity of the league" is a joke.

Sorsby bet on and against his own team. None of the anecdotal stories of other players are them betting on their own teams. Many don’t even involve betting on their own sport. The Liobs player was betting on other sports. He got suspended 6 games since it was on team property. The players who bet on NFL games (not their own teams) got suspended for a year. There really isn’t any pearl clutching. What Sorsby did was worse than any of the other players caught. It happened for years, thousands of times, and involved his own sport and team. People were justifiably mad when it looked like he’d serve no penalty for that.

He was betting on balls & strikes at Red's games. He was using friends & teammates to make bets for him when he got to Texas Tech. That takes a lot of premeditating planning. He knew exactly that what he was doing was against every sports' rules.

Gambling rules are hammered into these players heads as soon as they step foot on campuses. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s mentioned every single week and teams have signs up as reminders in meeting areas

Pretty sure they're just letting him keep what has already been paid out.

We need to go back to sports gambling only in Nevada (yes I know Oregon had some weird lottery pass thing).

If I know anything about Sorsby’s intelligence and impulse control, he has put away all of his money into Vanguard ETFs. His financial advisor probably suggested QQQ, and he brought up how QQQ has management fees that are between 0.5 and 1 percent higher than VUG and comparable index ETFs

Maybe he took out 50-60K on one car.
