Yeah. Simple.
Dudes who have been playing the game for decades and make millions doing it haven’t been able to warp their bodies like they’re in the matrix to avoid any head contact ever, but I’m sure they’re just not trying hard enough.

G-Dub’s angle. Obvious helmet-to-helmet hit. Plain and simple: this isn’t football, and you can’t do this. Tough break for White and LSU, but the rule is clear, and it doesn’t matter how much we don’t like it. You simply can’t do this in football anymore.

It’s not necessarily stupid to make targeting a thing, but it is beyond dumb to make it worse than a regular personal foul. The automatic ejection on first offense is what makes it such an idiotic, kneejerk rule.

I am just not seeing the same thing you are. That is absolutely a football play, I would find a late hit questionable

The logic of the rule is clear and easy to understand. The suspension simulates the consequences of a head-to-head hit without a helmet; when delivering a hit, you’re supposed to protect your head as if you aren’t wearing a helmet.
He dropped his head and hit the qb in the mouth. That isn’t football. Can’t play if you do that.

Well that's not the intent of the rule at all. It is impressive how you wove that tapestry of insanity in your head though.

If shoulder pads didn't exist
If thigh pads didn't exist
If chest protectors didn't exist
If knee protection didn't exist
If shoes didn't exist
If mouthguards didn't exist
