Can college coaches just coach and shut up about the political BS

College football has always been a great escape from me and I was really looking forward to it this year, but now coaches feel they have to get involved in the political BS. Coaches are paid to coach, not spout their political views. I've never attended a game based on a coach's political stance and never will. We have the greatest escape in the world in college sports, so can college coaches simply shut up about non-related sports issues and stand for the freakin' flag like and just play!!!!

They could, but risk player revolt. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Coaches are gutless and spineless. They like to win and the money that comes with it.
If you could get them all to say you’re playing ball or you’re going home, it would stop. But once one teams cuts someone with any talent, the other coach would forget his principles and sign him. And the coach who lets a player go is then the subject of negative recruiting.
Happens all the time with normal stuff. Otherwise, the coach eventually doesn’t win enough and gets fired and the money faucet gets turned off.

What a horrible misrepresentation of the interview by one of the MSB Antifa members

If you think that was political you'd probably believe he's preparing to run for office as a Dem after all his TV spots with JBE

Going on Fox News isn't political?

Yes, that's political, too.
Isn't the point of this thread that coaches shouldn't be political?

They have to cater to the players that make their livelihood
It just seems real fake to me

No. I think he's just trying to be supportive of elected officials

Tell Trump to stop going to football games and piping in on the Big 10.

You don't think supporting a political candidate in an ad is political?
Dude.
It's just funny to me that a shite ton of LSU fans are bitching about keeping the politics out of sports, but when their coach does something that is very clearly political, they come up with every excuse in the book.
It's hypocrisy at its finest.

They need to recruit so they need to one up each other on their wakefulness.
