No they voted for the split with good reason. Division I teams have owned them.

They have absolutely played 5-A. Non-select principals are only triggered by playoffs.

I seem to remember 5A before the split a bit differently. Truth be told, any private school not named Evangel was barely a threat. And they certainly didn’t own shite. I remember Rummel complaining they had to play Evangel in back to back semifinals and some of these div 1 schools had a lot to do with them and Curtis being sent down as well. So I wouldn’t throw stones in a glass house.

But Catholic beat Zachary twice when they won but Landry Walker won in 16 and Catholic didn’t play them either. I’ll give you Acadiana this year but I don’t think Catholic beats them in the playoffs. Different animal.
