Give Little League a try. I think those are 7 innings!

1) More doubleheaders
2) WC round best of three
3) Record determines WS home field

I agree with this

And to those that say DH in the NL...no! DH is really a position for players that are at the end of their career or those that can only hit. NL ball is such better baseball IMO

I love it when people who don't enjoy baseball or just slightly enjoy it at certain times of the year want to shorten the season and make all these changes that would destroy the game. Baseball is as strong right now as its ever been. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

meh...
they season is to long, and so is the playoff format
changes could be made without 'destroying' the game.

I only would be in favor of reducing the season by one week, but other than that, there really aren't that many significant changes that I'd like to see.

There's no way to shorten the playoffs without nixing the 2nd wildcard and/or shortening playoff series from 7 to 5 and neither of these will happen and they shouldn't happen. If anything, that wildcard game needs to be expanded to 3 games. Also, 162 games is perfect. You never see diehard baseball fans wanting a shorter season or shorter playoffs. It's only the casual fan who probably wouldn't be swayed by a shorter season anyway. The minute MLB starts adjusting rules to attempt to appeal to the masses instead of doing what's best for the game, that's when the game will be in huge trouble.

I'm afraid this would hurt attendance even more.

I love baseball, always have!
The season is just a little to long, and the playoffs are ridiculous IMO

As I posted earlier, baseball season is no longer than the football season or basketball from opening day till end of playoffs.

Cutting a week would reduce amount of games played but it wouldn't do much. Weekend double headers and a few others during the summer would be great.

Yes I'm aware of those past changes. I'm not saying nothing should ever change, just that MLB should not pander to the masses at the expense of the game. And shortening the season would be just that IMO.

First thing I would do if I were commissioner would be put the Astros back in the National League where they belong.
