AGREED. I was at the Nats game a few weeks ago when he got plunked by Hammel and then stole home.
They lost the game but that was a hell of a game to see. His speed is unreal. Pure hustle.

He used to score on sac flies from second regularly in high school

For fricks sake, I feel this way exactly.

The Nats picked two great years to be a really really shitty team. Strasburg and Harper back to back.

Yea they got two rare phenoms back to back. They just need to keep building around that and keep people and they'll continue to do what they're doing this year

I'm guessing you're a DCer too? Even though I'm a Marlin fan in DC, I really like to watch him play. The Natitude marketing campaign...

For everyone that says he is a douche, have you met him? My good close friend is the chaplain for the Lexington Legends and had the pleasure of meeting him when he played here. My friend will tell you who is an arse and who isn't. He speaks very highly of Bryce and his character. He is a little cocky, but let's be honest, it's amazing he's not an uber douche from all of the hype since he was 10.

I love his 110% every time approach, that single he stretched into a double against J Hey was great. Love hustle like that, just like the steal against the Phils.

I don't get how anyone can hate on him. Most exciting young prospect since...Griffey?
Harper is going to be a beast in the majors for a long, long time to come.

He's damn good, I don't doubt that. I just wonder how he'll do over the next couple years once MLB pitchers discover his weaknesses.

That will determine if he is a "great" or good player. If he makes the adjustments. There is no reason to speculate that he won't work hard and adjust.

Great link. Harper's a stud, no doubt, but even looking at that list minus the 19th century players and you get:
Mel Ott
Tony Conigliaro
Ty Cobb
Jimmie Foxx
That is a bizarre list of teenage studs. If you were asked who had the best start to Age 19 seasons in the 20th century, I doubt anyone would guess those four.
And look at the list of the best seasons for those with at least 300 AB:
Mel Ott, 138 wRC+
Tony Conigliaro, 137 wRC+
Ty Cobb, 134 wRC+
Sherry Magee, 118 wRC+
Cesar Cedeno, 115 wRC+
Mickey Mantle, 114 wRC+
Ken Griffey Jr, 106 wRC+
So, Harper's projected range for his career is anywhere between Cesar Cedeno and Mickey Mantle. Small range, huh?

I like how he plays, he's just kind of a douche.

Natitude is pretty annoying, but this team is a lot of fun to watch.
I really enjoy the energy that Harper brings, he is legitimately pissed if he doesn't make a big play. Throw in Strasburg and Gonzalaez and you have to more fun pitchers to watch.
Laroche is finally swinging the bat and when Morse comes back, that could be a pretty nasty lineup. All they need is Storen back in the pen and it is a formidable team.
