if not for the Crawford box Bregman would have 20 dinger's at most.

Bregman's shortest home run this season was 342 feet to left field. How many stadiums are deeper than 342 near the line (not the power alley)?

If the game is still competitive, Trout might get walked, and he knows it. If it's not competitive, the pitcher doesn't have to be as fine in his approach. Throw it over the plate.

this is a ridiculous argument imo.

Trout was the more valuable player this year statistically, the only argument for Bregman is that his team was better or he was some type of leader that helped his team win in an immeasurable way off the field.

Stats are pretty split.

Bregman had him in 2/3 of the triple crown stats, which voters love. Also more runs, more walks, less strikeouts.

Trout has the HR edge and SB edge but neither by a huge margin. He leads in OPS, but again it wasn't at peak Bonds level or anything.

That stat makes you wonder about the approaches of today's hitters. Gary Sheffield had more walks than strikeouts for 12 straight years from 1994-2005. Chipper Jones had more walks than strikeouts in 13 out of his 18 seasons. And then there were guys like Albert Pujols and Frank Thomas and Todd Helton who were only striking out 60 or 70 times a year while still maintaining a healthy walk rate. Yeah, it's hard to have more walks than strikeout but it shouldn't be that rare where only one or two players are doing it over the course of an entire season.

LOL...I love how you use two hall of famers, one future hall of famer, and two other really good hitters as comparisons

If you want to argue about what is value, start a thread and I'll be sure not to bother you

If I was voting I would have a hard time picking one over the other. Bregman had fewer homeruns while playing in 20 more games than Trout, but I'm not sure you can fault the dude for being in the lineup everyday. Trout being +20 points over Bregman in OPS+ is a big deal to me, but again I go back to games played. Bregman helped his team everyday by being in the lineup while Trout was out for a bit and only played in 130 games or so.

Amen to this, Most valuable player, not most surrounded in the line up by an MVP and a rookie of the year contender. I am a big Astro's fan since I was a kid, but if not for the Crawford box Bregman would have 20 dinger's at most. He is awesome and love him on our team but Trout is the goat.

This is a troll. No one knows this little about baseball.
