The flag and anthem was a central theme in his protest. He didn’t randomly choose that

And yet he changed and agreed to show respect and use kneeling, a fully acceptable form of respect in several countries and religions, and people still got their twats all knotted up.

Man you don’t need to get angry

It’s just factual it was about the flag. He thinks the flag and America stands for oppression, so he doesn’t want to honor it. That is absolutely his right and protesting it peacefully doesn’t bother me

But you don’t need to act like it’s not about the flag. He straight up told you it was

Watching him grovel like that is truly pathetic.

No doubt those are his thoughts. He picked his side tonight, without question.

Exactly

Brees showed as much awareness in that interview as he did when he tossed that interception late in the 1st half against the Vikes in the playoffs recently.

He's me favorite Saints player of ol' time but he's still prone to mistakes like the rest of us.

I fully expect him to convert to Islam sometime this weekend

I’m sure his commitment to Christianity is super strong and definitely not able to be completely shattered in one day with pressure from Twitter.

/sarcasm.

Brees dumped a portion of his fanbase to side with his teammates. 3x now in the last two days.

Not going to lie, I felt my fandom slipping when brees retired. I’m reborn now as a Bill. Circle the wagons, the Ralph, burning tables

I’m rejuvenated. I’m not angry anymore

I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to watch the NFL anymore. My interest has been waning in recent years and this may have sealed the deal. Oh well..

I think I will he calmed down enough to watch it come September. But I haven’t really been bought in besides saints games these last few years.

So, if this bills thing doesn’t work, maybe church? Nah, not that. Maybe more fishing

Dude didn't realize his detractors would never accept his fake contrition and then doubled down on shooting his supporters in the foot.

Man is now without a country. Lost at Sea because he couldn't stand by his convictions.

The mob doesn't give a crap if you apologize. But he doubled-down when given a lifeline by Trump and used support to join the people attacking him.

Should've just left the POTUS support out there. Denying it was disingenuous, obvious pandering to the mob that won't give a shite that he rebuffed Trump but his supporters and military families certainly will.
