my bad. forgot about that.

But this U.S. team still sucks.

FWIW you forgetting about 2002 world cup run really makes me respect your opinion on this team.

Yeah there were also quite a few low points for that 2002 team in qualifying.. including a home loss to los Catrachos.

I still feel that the best team we have ever had was in '06, except of course for the whole 'Kasey Keller' thing... that and drawing el grupo de la muerte.

We were a handball away from making it to the semi finals. fricking Torsten Frings.

And we were a Charlie Davies gimme header from a 2-2 draw on Monday. A man down against Italy and we showed no backing off. If Brazil is not ready we may steal one. Altidore would have pounded that ball into the net.

Get him out of europe. I swear I believe that European clubs exist solely to frick USA's emerging talent.

And a respectable ref away from an actual 11 v 11 match, or a late PK opportunity.

Yep. The first half before the highly questionable ejection we were toe to toe with allmighty Italy. We are getting better and with the correct combination of players I could see the US making the final eight in 2010.

I'm going to say 5-3 USA. No defense will be played tomorrow.

We are. We absolutely are. Funny thing is that after Clark was sent off, we really started to settle down and create opportunities. We played well most of the game. It sucks to lose, but I'll commend the effort.

In 02 we advanced to the final eight. After a world shocker of beating Portugal, tying Korea, then losing to Poland we were in to the round of knockouts and who do we draw? None other than Mexico, who we pwned 2-0. In the final 8 you are almost guaranteed a game with a good team, and thats we what we got in the eventual 2nd place Germany (in a game that SHOULD have gone to fricking extra time due to fricking Frings).

Another thing that Lalas said this morning that I agreed with is that this is such a great opportunity for USA to get better against tough competition. I mean, Italy and Brazil!? While the other group consists of Iraq, and S Africa? I like the experience we will get in this tournament.

Brazil doesn't deserve to be on the field with team USA and Freddie Adu.

I like the experience element of facing an Italy and Brazil. If we don't get any points against these three teams, Bradley has proven for the last time, he isn't ready to ascend us into a competitive WC team.

I agree, but I don't think the Federation will fire him even after some poor qualifying games and going 0-3 in the Confederations Cup.

I would like to see Torres get a shot tomorrow, but I bet we will see Beasley. I am okay with either Feilbaher or Klejstan starting.

I'd love the same lineup, but since Clark can't play sub in Klejstan

I think the emergance of Feilhaber could really pay dividends come next WC

Also, the article that was just posted. I have a few thoughts.

First off, I think the excuse of Adu not playing for his club is horseshite...half our team doesn't play for good clubs. Second, Adu has shown how much skill he has, and there is no reason for him not to play some late in games when the outcome is no longer in doubt. I just think the kid should definitely get a shot of some sort, and i can't understand why he doesn't play at all.

I agree. He is one of the few players that can attack a defense and make something happen. Bradley needs to go to the strenghts of this team. If not, replace him with a Manager that knows how to get the most out of a roster.

Yep...I'm not saying the guy should start, but when looking for an offensive sub in the 2nd half, i have to think he's the best choice we have...i defintely know he's better than beasley

Correct. Adu can break down a defense and is a threat on set pieces within 25 yards. Beasley's time has come and gone.
