did Bobby jack JJ in the knee with a bat? If he did, I must have missed that.

you can kiss the wild card goodbye. we have a one game lead as of today. Even if we did somehow miraculously make the playoffs, we would not stand a chance of getting out of the first round, especially if we have to match up with the Phillies again. Out pitching staff is completely a mess right now. We cannot hit for power or steal bases. we have to hit 4 singles in a row to score runs. Bobby keeps running out all these washed up players batting below .200 in the starting lineup.

If the Braves win the Wild Card they will open at either the Reds or the NL West winner depending on who had the better record. The Phillies would host either the Reds or the NL West winner depending on who had the worse record.

either way, what have we shown the last month that makes you think Atlanta can win a playoff series?

Braves would be fine if they made the playoffs.

No reason to flip out yet. Did you expect to sweep the Phils (who look like they may not lose again) in Philly? We just came off of a road sweep. Our pitching has been a bit off the past few weeks, but they were so hot, they had to cool off.

We'll be fine.

ETA - Why compare us to the Phillies anyway? They have better hitters, when healthy, and 3 monster SPs. They're a better team right now, but who gives a shite. Anything can happen in the playoffs.

I know more about baseball than you. I know pitching wins championships and we have only one pitcher who is a consistent pitcher in Hudson. Lowe is average at best and you never know what you are going to get with Hanson. We do not hit for power and do not steal bases to manufacture runs so we have to string together a lot of hits in a row to score runs. We also are horrible with RISP. I watched almost every Braves game this year and know we are screwed.

that's a rough argument considering you didn't even know that the wildcard team can't play their own division champion in the divisional series.

a lotta that shite may be true, but we didn't just win 86 games for no reason. i hate that nega-fan bullshite, there's no reason for it whatsoever.

I haven't even thought about playoff matchups since the Braves will not be in it.

having said that, we played great ball when Medlan was healthy and our 5th starter. Now he is gone, Chipper is gone, Jurrjens is gone, our rotation is crap now.

Hudson
Hanson
Lowe
Jurrjens
Medlan

has turned into

Hudson - still good
Hanson - very erratic
Lowe - sucks
Minor - average
Beachy - noob

that is not a playoff rotation.

also, Glaus was killing it and now he is in a wheelchair. Ankiel, McClouth, D. Lee, A Gonzalez, etc are not doing crap and have low OBP.

are only good hitters right now are
Omar
Prado
J-Hey
McCann

haha, you think we actually have a chance to dethrone the Phillies and win the division. What are we 5 back now with 10 games to.

Their magic number is 6, and I really dont give a frick. Until it's physically impossible for us not to win, I will have faith we will win the NL East

And they play the Phillies 4 of those games.

Do I think it will happen? No
Is it remotely possible? Yes

Just get to the playoffs and we can go with a 3 man rotation: Hudson, Hanson, and either JJ or Lowe. By no means do the Braves have the best team in baseball or even in the NL, but often times the playoffs are a crap shoot.

Yep, playoffs can be turned in a single at-bat. And five game series can really bring about early LDS upsets. Hate best of fives..in bases and hoops.
