If they lose 3 games with that cupcake schedule no way in fricking hell they go to a big bowl game like the fiesta.
In 94-95 Notre Dame went 6-4-1 and played in the Fiesta Bowl. And got shalacked, by Oregon State I believe.

I dont think it applies to the NCG because the top two ranked teams have to play against each other. Im pretty sure the BCS commissioners can prevent a rematch in the Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, and Rose though.

The BCS did not exist then, they must met certain standards to be eligible for a BCS bowl.

They prefer not to do it, but I'm sure the Rose would rather have the Pac-10 Big-10 Champs, rather than not having a rematch.

Plus that would be a good game for them.

maybe they can, but they did not prevent a FSU-Miami rematch in 2003/4 even though those 2 were opening the 2004 season against each other. The Big 10 will not send a runner up in place of tOSU unless they were in the BCS CG. If OSU wins the Big 10, they will play in the Rose Bowl.

I know that and you know that, but that was not his argument. And, I think Notre Dame can play in a BCS game if they have 9 wins and are ranked in the BCS top 12 -- ?

That's right, but it is doubtful that they would be in the top 12 or whatever if they finish 9-3.

Did anyone notice that somethng is wrong? Little Caesar's bowl is in Michigan, not Toronto. Toronto has the International Bowl. Matchups are wrong

I would love to see Boise destroy Notre Dame

Hopefully after it happens (if they face each other), they never get another invite unless they ACTUALLY PROVE something. I hate to even have to talk about this. Why couldn't Udub finish it? Two of the teams I hate the most and the least hated of the two can't finish off the other...........lol.

How about LSU vs Nebraska in the Cotton? Bo Pelini vs Les Miles?

EagleBank Bowl
ACC No. 4 vs. Big Ten No. 4 or 5
Projection: Florida State vs. Penn State

Very optimistic for FSU and pessimistic for Penn State. I don't know how they came up with that.

Outback Bowl
January 1, Tampa FL, 11 am, ESPN
Big Ten No. 3 vs. SEC
Projection: Iowa vs. LSU

How many times does ND have to get throttled in a BCS Bowl for them to not be given bids anymore?

Iowa may go to the Rose. I think they can win the Big 10.

Hell, haven't they only been to 2 BCS bowls total anyway?

There have been far worse teams than ND to make recent BCS bowls.

Va Tech was a 4 loss team in 2008.
Illinois was a 3 loss team in 2007.
FSU was a 4 loss team in 2005.
Pitt was a 4 loss team in 2004.
FSU was a 4 loss team in 2003.

ND was a 2 loss team in 2005 and 2006.

The common thread is that the ACC and Big East typically produce overrated conference champs, often with 3 or 4 losses in weak conferences.

RE ND: I think they'll go down to USC and Stanford - if that happens it will probably keep them out of the BCS. They are a team that's playing to their level of competition every week - it will bite them a few times this year.
