Boise State is a good and dirty team. No one is denying that.
Fact is they are not a GREAT team. Their competition says that.
The WAC is literally the worst FBS conference and may actually be worse than some FCS conferences.
People don't care about Boise State being good. They care about a "good" team claiming it is an NC contender off two wins including one against a team that lost at home to an FCS team and another that is 4-4.

I've always used this analogy for Boise, Tcu, Utah, etc...
They are like a student with a 4.0 gpa from a community college or junior college being considered for a Rhodes Scholar. Just because they have a flawless academic record, it doesn't mean that they should be considered for the Rhodes Scholar. Their scholastic achievements aren't the same as one from Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Boston U, Univ. Chicago, etc.....

I'm just mesmerized by how bad Idaho is.
I think Boise State has great coaching, a consistent QB, and athletes who play hard every down of every game despite the gulf in competition.
But still, because they are on a tier above the rest of the WAC does not mean that they are on the highest tier of college football.

if Boise somehow won the national title this year would it be a foregone conclusion that they would HAVE to at least get into the NC game every year if they went undefeated?
