Snyder .... Almost $3 million per year ............

Has never won a national championship.

From what I've read, he has his entire family on the f*cking payroll.

And, this scumbag has the nerve to talk about college football being in a "bad place" because of "money"????

This muther f*cker is more hypocritical than the piece of f*cking filth living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Last time we had this thread, everyone was in your corner and saying nothing is wrong -- that the big money needs to be spent so that the fooball and basketball programs stay successful and keep all of the athletic teams humming along. Anyway, I am pleasantly surprised to see some support for Snyder here. I love college football more than almost anything, but the realignment and TV money seem FUBAR at this point. I kind of like Kafka's idea.

Dumb question -- is there something which prevents schools from dipping into the endowments to run athletics? I know they all say football and hoop fund all the sports, but every school has hundreds of millions, if not billions, in these endowments. I've always wondered what prevents them from throwing $20 million at Saban a year.

College football and basketball is a huge bubble based on the belief that the status quo of not paying players will continue forever.

That is not going to happen, and the NCAA's hubris with regards to the O'Bannon/Keller lawsuit is a huge reason for that.

It's true. Just think about when Bama/LSU decline and how bad these fanbases bitch after a loss. Scary times!

NBA/NFL owners are greedy owners who don't want to pay for a minor league system.

Is he still going the JUCO route to significantly fill out the football roster these days, or was that just during his first go-round? I could see the holier than thou comments coming from the coach of a Vandy or a Stanford, but Kansas State?

I'm an LSU football fan, but I have to admit that I have hard time accepting that LSU and LSU football are completely separate entities.

Academics could survive without football, but not the other way around. It's not like LSU football can just rebrand themselves. The brand is the university and all the history, academics, and relative prestige (believe it or not) that comes with it.

I didn't go to LSU because of football and I didn't become an LSU football fan for any other reason than that they were LSU.

There's some benefit to having a good football program, but ultimately it's about moderation and/or priorities. It's really up to society to make that determination.

Snyder built KSU by accepting JUCO trash and scheduling non-conference patsies. He's the last moron that should bitch about college football being all about money.
