He's scaled it back over the past 4 months, but from 2016 through late 2018 he would literally mention Trump in a derogatory manner at least once (usually more) on every single podcast.
The low point for me was in 2017 when he had young Ben Simmons (aged 6 or so) on and Ben had clearly been brainwashed and said something about "Trump is a bad person". Was awful.

Some people on the ringer are very talented. I can think of 4 people. 3 basketball 1 baseball. Most are like what the heck for writing.
I don't care for pop culture and gets frustrating when they try to be funny or bring up way too much culture stuff.
I wouldn't call Jason Conception, Rodger Sherman, Mallory Rubin beyond talented. Kevin Clark could be talented but tries to be something he isn't.

I won't knock Bill Simmons for being a dad. Someone like him and any journalist is when they grind the quality of their work really goes down.
My favorite sports writer Bruce Feldman his quality has gone down tremendously since going to the athletic.
Only a few people on the ringer can churn out high quality pieces often.

I think Ben Lindbergh and Michael Baumann are really good. Shea Serrano writes a lot less but was a great discovery.
The basketball guys are all very good. However he hasn’t had a breakthrough star like Zach Lowe (or even Bill Barnwell) in a while.
Brian Philips is really self indulgent. Robert Mays appears to only write listicles these days.

I enjoy when House comes on his podcasts
I just enjoy when he gets into “fan modes” and asks guests about who they’re fans of and how they think
Because unless I’m listening to Washington DC sports radio (which I have 0 interest of

As long as he's not drinking. He was on back-to-back pods, one with Russillo and Simmons, and I just wanted him to shut up.
Although, he had a great moment when they were breaking down GoT and they talked about how annoyed House was getting with the lack of nudity in the final season. Russillo was like "you don't know how to use google?"

Barnwell is extremely overrated / boring and Mays is terrible in every aspect. Only Lombardi is interesting / entertaining in regards to Simmons NFL guys.
