Zed dead baby Zeds dead! Bobby changed the way people thought about defencemen but Wayner is my era... He knew where he could hide on the ice to pop outta nowhere and score before you knew he was there....

The Indians are dead last in attendance this season.

Because the team is shite. It's like saying Baltimore is a bad baseball town because the Orioles attendance is horrible. When a team hasn't had a winning season in thirteen years or in the Cleveland Indians' case two winning seasons in the last eight years, interest will wane. And you can't judge fan interest simply on attendance figures alone. You have to look at merchandise sales and TV ratings as well.

Weren't you just making that same point by saying the Cavs support would suck if they lose LeBron?

The Indians have only had consistent support during one five or six year period in the last few decades. We are gauging the rankings of these teams based on interest. Regardless of how shitty your team is, interest is low when its DEAD LAST in attendance (especially given all of the bad baseball markets). And the Indians were a game away from the world series just a couple of years ago.

Do you really think Cleveland would be more ecstatic winning a NBA championship than winning the World Series?

With LeBron? Absolutely.

Why am I supposed to think they'd be more ecstatic about the Indians? Nothing shows they would be.

Ranked from most ecstatic to least ecstatic, if Cleveland won a title:
1. Super Bowl
2. NBA title with Lebron James
3. World Series
4. NBA title without Lebron James

Are the only ones I disagree with. I'm going to address the Washington list first since I'm really familiar with the area. The Nationals are last and I mean dead last in interest in Washington D.C. Nobody watches their games on T.V. and a lot of times, the opposing fanbase has more fans in their ballpark and Nationals fans.
I don't think I've ever met a Wizards fan, and I worked in DC for five years. This is a franchise that markets the opponent, and has my entire life. Washington is Redskins - Georgetown basketball - Redskins - Caps- Redskins - Nats - Redskins - Wizards.

there are plenty of wizards fans, we had lots of sell outs just 2 years ago and that place was rocking esp during the playoffs during that 4 year stretch. As for the marketing the opponents and their fans the Pollin family no longer owns the team so that will end now like when Ted bought the Caps. Ted is already trying the change the colors back to red white and blue

Any time I went to a Wizards game, most people there were NBA fans, not Wizard fans. We rooted for the Wiz just because they were local, but really, had nothing invested.

Stern's mission: accomplished.

Bird/Magic, then Jordan, then Shaq, then Kobe/Lebron. So many stars whose faces transcend their sport, moreso than in any other game. The NBA is the league that has the most league fans as opposed to team fans.

FWIW, I don't think I've seen Cincy mentioned yet.
(I could have easily missed it if so)

Up until 2008, the Celtics would have been far behind the Patriots.

I wouldn't go that far, I don't think any sports in Boston have truly battled the Sox for the #1 spot.

Generally right, though Jets before Mets could be debated, as could Devils before Islanders. Another couple of seasons like the last few and the Knicks may drop off the radar screen entirely.
