He is only 29. Him playing until 40 is not unrealistic esp with the dh

Who knows how Cabrera's body will hold up.

He doesn't exactly take care of himself.

Not unrealistic at all but he's got to pull 200 a season til he's 40. That doesn't factor in injury, decline, etc.

It is certainly possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

Age 21-29

Pujols

1,071 R
366 HR
1,112 RBI

Cabrera

922 R
312 HR
1,061

Let's not let one season cloud our judgement on who the best hitter in the league is up to this point.

As far as the future, who the frick knows? I'd bet money Pujols rebounds in a huge way next season.

It was a good run.

You're going to get a lot more done at work now.

It is possible that their hitting stats may be close. But Pujols was a solid 3B and OF and a great defensive 1B for a while--I think he's still pretty good.

Not sure Cabrera has been anything but below average on defense. Granted right now, Cabrera has played more non-1B than Pujols so there is some value to that, but I'd imagine over the course of his career he'll be seeing more 1B and DH.
