Favre never would have been able to handle Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, Suh, Luke Kuechly, Von Miller, Patrick Willis, etc.

Such a dumb argument

The most recent danger of the Packers relocating occurred in the 1950’s when they were fighting to build New City Stadium. They built it, it was renamed Lambeau Field, hired an Italian from New York, and the rest as they say is history. At no time since the new stadium was built was that franchise ever going to relocate.

Really, oh wise one?

We asked Steffen if the referendum failed, would the Packers still be playing at Lambeau Field? “In my estimation the Green Bay Packers would likely not be in Green Bay,” said Steffen.

With the rules in place now that protect the QB, why not?

Again, you must be very young and have no recollection of the NFL before rules were in place to protect QBs.

The rules may have been slightly different, but it's still a physical sport, and it's not like Favre was getting picked up and body slammed on his own head every play like Terry Bradshaw was back in the 70s.

Most of the roughing the passer changes were implemented well after Rodgers was already established as one of the greats in 2018. And even then, the QBs are still having to take the hit in order to get flagged for it for the most part.

I won't argue that the rules were different back then because they were, but you could also argue with analytics and all the new sports science and health initiatives out there now, it's even a much different caliber of athlete Rodgers faced compared to Favre. Quicker, faster and stronger.

I'm not trying to say that Rodgers is tougher than Favre. It's incredible the number of games Favre played in his career.

I just think it's ridiculous to say that Rodgers is a pussy because of this "back in my day" argument the older generation (especially in the NBA) likes to bring up when he's also faced off against some of the greatest to ever do it on the defensive side of the ball.

He was Mahomes before Mahomes became who he is. I have never seen someone throw the ball and put it in places like Rodgers can.

am guessing that you're young and never watched mid-90s Favre so I will let it slide.

Yeah, I remember watching the 2017 draft and they said Andy Reid made the comment that Mahomes could be the next Favre, and that's why the Chiefs traded up for him. I thought he was nuts. I was severely incorrect.

He had one good year in Minnesota and sucked the other 2 years away from Green Bay.

Favre's biggest weakness was obviously his interceptions, especially in the back half of his career. He had his best years when Holmgren was riding his arse and making him somewhat take care of the ball. Once Holmgren left Favre had carte blanche to chuck it into triple coverage at will, and boy did he. Ironically, Favre's best season in the second half of his career was 2009. He played smart, efficient football for most of that entire season and then, with a chance at the Super Bowl on the line, he just had to wing the ball across his body back into the middle of the field. It's just who he was.

His weakness was that couldn't read a defense the way guys have it drilled into them now. He didn't even know what a nickel D was until his backup told him. He just had that crazy ability to see what was happening w/o really knowing how it worked and still kicked arse.

Favre by a lot . Bottom line… he cared about team success. Rogers is all about him.

Rodgers is an unequivocally better QB even if he did turn into a pseudo intellectual dickhead towards the end
