Then along comes Tarver and his career starts going downhill. But something about the Tarver fight just makes me believe he (Jones) threw it, had money on it or some shite. Jones had been beating Antonio Tarver like fighters his whole career, now all of a sudden he's getting hit easily by Tarver.

Watch the Jones vs Ruiz round one...Late in Round One Ruiz landed a punch that hurt Jones bad...Ruiz did not realize it or he could have finished Jones...that was the beginning of the end.

Jones has been shite ever since.

Roy Jones was a less fundamentally sound boxer than Tyson but was a great puncher and really was more respected by casual fans than knowledgeable boxing fans.

sabes que:
quote:

I’ve heard Paul is a legit athlete, but I can’t believe anywhere to the level of Nate Robinson. Can Jake Paul dunk? Nate Robinson was a NBA dunk contest winner, yes size/reach matters, but not when there is this much of an athletic difference. Someone that can reach the level of NFL or NBA is a different animal.

PrimeTime Money:
quote:

Height and reach doesn’t matter as much when it’s someone like Mike Tyson who likes to fight in the inside and has insane power... but Nate Robinson is just tiny.

He’s not going to be a skilled enough boxer to overcome a reach advantage and utilize an athletic advantage. And this is boxing... it doesn’t matter if he can dunk.

Raw athleticism is more important in MMA than boxing.
I love being right.

did not bet, but a good lesson learned to not bet on an exhibition match that features two guys who respect each other.

Exactly. This is why I chose Tyson. Jones was a joke years ago when he retired. No one even paid attention to watch his last few years. He had zero left.
