I knew I missed someone legit, Troy Murphy.
So here is the updated list in order.
David Lee
Chris Kaman
Mike Dunleavy Jr
Kirk Hinrich
Kevin Love
Troy Murphy
Mike Miller
JJ Redick
Tyler Hansbrough

So, reasonably how many games would this team win in a NBA season?
Posted on 12/16/09 at 11:18 pm to ZZTIGERS
2-5 this is a pretty solid team.
2: Redick, Hinrich
3: Miller, Dunleavy Jr
4: Lee, Love, Murphy, Hansbrough
5: Kaman, maybe Collison
With two decent point guards, they would make the playoffs. Unfortunately, they would never find two decent point guards, and they would be stuck with poor Kirk Hinrich running the point with an aging Jason Williams playing 15-20 minutes a game.

First off, i dont buy the whole foreign white player vs American white player...they are just white. So i guess its like saying Nash isnt white, he is Canadian or Dirk isnt white, he is German...give me a break. Dont think for one second black people dont claim Tim Duncan or Tony Parker or Hakeem Olajuwan or Hasheen Thabeet and so on. Why is it ok for them to all be black but players like Nash cant be truely white. To me its honestly a way to keep white people feeling like they dont belong in the NBA. Steve Nash is WHITE and is one of the best players in the NBA....foreign or not.

In that case, if you made an all-star team of just white players they could be one of the best teams in the NBA for sure.
The main issue would be at point guard but Nash is one of the best in the business, and Udrih, Jason Williams, and of course Ricky Rubio in a couple of years would all provide enough depth to manage.

i guess Jason Williams doesnt play anymore? i've been out of touch with the nba.

He's still in the league, but nowhere near his prime which makes sense since he is a 34-year old guy who relied on quickness. Still, I think he is probably the best white American point guard.
The back-up options would be for Hinrich or Scheyer (next year) to bring the ball up the court, and that would obviously limit a team big time.

Who are some of the quality white players that will be in the NBA in the next few seasons. Off the top of my head
Kyle Singler - Duke
Robbie Hummel - Purdue
Matt Bouldin - Gonzaga
Cole Aldridge - Kansas

I think Jon Scheyer will have a place in the NBA. If Jon Leuer is actually 6'10", he might have a shot after 4 years of college ball as well. Maybe Calathes can come back if he does well in Europe.
Then you have AJ Ogilvy from Vanderbilt, but he is Australian. Enes Kanter is a 5-star recruit going to Washington, but he is Turkish (averaged 18 points and 16 boards at the Euro U-19 tournament).

I think Hummel is kind of a poor man's Singler. He may get some playing time, but he won't be around for too long. I think Bouldin can have a career in the NBA because he is a clever player, kind of like Scheyer.
There's always room for a guy who is different from everyone else whether it is a 7'6 stiff, a smart player, a great defender, etc.

yeah, but im not that high on Singler as a pro. Probably a career bench player. and i dont think Hummel is as polished as he is.
he'll be one of those guys that gets drafted but will have trouble sticking

Bouldin has a better shot to stick cause he is a big guard, but he is that great of a passer and i don't find him to be that athletic. He wont be able to guard anyone.
and Scheyer at best could be a JJ Redick type. Jon Barry. Someone that comes in to shoot the 3.
Posted on 12/17/09 at 12:31 am to Lester Earl
I think that Singler will be basically a late first round pick and 3rd guy off the bench for 8-10 seasons, so I am not high on Hummel's pro future in the US.
Scheyer is not in the same range as Redick as a shooter or scorer, but I think his ball handling and defense are basically at Redick's current NBA level, which isn't bad at all. Redick's agility is slept on big time because he is a suburban guy. I don't think Jon is as athletic but he really knows what he is doing out there.
