Then that’s a knock on Payton, no?

Yeah, that one Super Bowl Payton and Brees made and won makes them the best.

They had a passable defense the year the Saints won it. Otherwise, they’re Coryell and Fouts. And not winning it all more does fall on the head coach, which is part of this judgment.

Some of you people should be banned just on stupidity alone.

Drew Brees is a legend.

But don't disrespect Mahomes like that. He's already torched Brees career and he's only 27 years old.

Noll/Bradshaw. Four Lombardis in six years, with a franchise that was a bottom feeder when they arrived.

Just couldn’t line it up. If we could’ve had 2011-13 Brees with the defenses in the twilight of his career he could’ve likely gotten another one or maybe even two. By the time Payton and Ireland figured out the defensive side of the ball Brees had fallen off enough to not be at that truly elite level. He was still really accurate but couldn’t put a defense on its heels like he could 5 or so years before.

I just want to post again to re-concentrate this thread. A lot of comments are suggesting illegitimate options. Please vote for the only 2 options using the upvote and downvote function, accordingly.

Thanks in advance!
