re: Best Dunk Contest in Decades

Lavine is definitely the better dunker. He really may be the best NBA dunker ever, but Gordon had the two best dunks. He used the mascot and stupid rolling board thing to perfection. And as good as these guys are, there's plenty of random Instagram Dunkers that do stuff the dunk contest has never seen.
It's crazy how high the bar has been raised. Jason Richardson and Vince Carter stick out as guys that really raised the bar for the contest, but the stuff Lavine and Gordon did tonight was so much more creative and difficult.

Then you know it should have been over when he did that one where he lifted both legs over the mascot and dunked
Agreed... I have watched it when tey had it in the ABA, and that was one of the best I have ever seen..... That dude was up in the air....

Exactly. If Lavine's were 10s, that was straight 12s.
Gordon could have competed with any of the greats with those dunks.

Gordon got robbed

I watched a replay of the contests in the early 90s. If you missed your first attempt you were given a score for it.

I can only say that this was a good dunk contest after I get approval from SFP, who, on the MSB has stated a few times that he is a dunk contest connoisseur.

I missed it last night, just watched highlights and was lit up. I could only imagine watching it live. There were a few dunks in there that were just mind blowing.

Gordon's dunks were arguably some of the best in history. He has an ability to get his entire body 7-8ft in the air:

Fair point, but do they execute on the first attempt, in front of 20k people and millions watching on TV?

Is it safe to say that the NBA has taken the lead as far as Major Sports All Star festivities? What an fantastic night last night, you had KAT vs. Isaih Thomas finale at the skill comp., then an intense 3pt contest, capped off by an dunk contest that will go down in history. Not to mention being topped off by the game tonight.
You can even throw in the fact Kevin Hart nearly beat an NBA player in a 3 pt contest

Crazy how most of those dunks that was the first time they've attempted
