Therewas sour grapes all the way around and I have my doubts if it was the principal who called. The twins family took the long term success route for their children but when they signed saying the were going to Dutchtown in the spring at the behest of their staff so they could participate in workouts it was a long shot for them to be eligible as freshman.. but don’t think for one second that dutchtown didn’t apply pressure on the family to sign those forms

Y’all act like the principle being pissed about dutchtown not signing these forms (not even sure if any of this is true btw) is a bad thing. Sounds like the GOAT Lisa Harvey was going to bat for kids at her school to have the best opportunity to succeed.
The twins already told you they don’t want to attend your school (Dutchtown). They want to be at Catholic, why take an opportunity away from them? To be honest neither of them were going to be impact players on Catholics team last year as freshman. So it didn’t even make a difference.

Like one new public school in Lafayette Parish... How many kids suddenly found their new address in Youngsville?

And if Catholic High is like 99% of the Catholic schools in the state, the kids who are there on scholarship have to actually WORK in the summer. It's not like it's a college athletic scholarship where you get tuition in exchange for playing.

Meh.Public schools are just as bad in Georgia.
Marietta HS (Arik Gilbert's HS) probably had 15 P5 signees and probably
2 or 3 of em lived within their supposed district.
It's somewhat of a weird loophole with schools that are their own district in GA. All of em seem to have an "open enrollment" policy that allows em to get kids outside their district and it's not a coincidence that those schools seem to be powerhouses almost every year...Buford,Cartersville,Rome and Marietta all fall into that category.

Agree with your post, but I'll note that Guice lived with the counselor because she wanted to adopt him (but Guice's bio mom wouldn't consent), not because she was trying to keep him playing football at CHS. She eventually left the school because she wanted to have him at home more than she wanted to work at the school.

quote:the reason is really irrelevant. as for work study as for work study... some schools do a much better job at getting the kids to work than others do...

That's throwing shade without looking like you're throwing shade. Most Catholic schools do not give full scholarships any more - they all require the family to contribute something - and they require work in exchange. Are there people and schools who skirt the rules? Certainly. Is it enough to explain the difference in performance. Nope.
And public and private schools can't compete for the top trophy anyway, so it's a bit ridiculous to complain that public schools are at a disadvantage.
Stop. The. Insanity.
