Pete Rose would be in, except that he refuses to admit his stupidity, and continues to double, triple, and quadruple down on the stupidity.
When there was rumors of him possibly being reinstated, they try to find Pete for comment, and he's in a casino, doing a gambling show, and giving out gambling picks and horse picks. He was asked if he should distance himself from gambling, and basically said no, and if you dont like it, gfy.
He's refused to stop gambling, and continued rubbing MLB nose in it.
He's made his own bed, and will continue lying in it.

He’s been stuck in the 50s in terms of voting percentage for the last three years. The votes have been increasing but only by 3% by year. Unfortunately, I don’t see him getting voted in at this point. Bonds only hope is that the ballot has really been clearing up with so many candidates being voted in and the upcoming classes are weak with a lack of strong first-time candidates. Maybe he’ll get a bump from that but I doubt it.

You think Pete Rose is the greatest hitter of all time?

Rob Parker had a really good take on this on Undisputed. He said that Bonds will probably get the bump his last year, like Edgar Martinez just did.
The thing with Bonds just doesn't makes sense anymore. Steroid guys are in. There were always rumors about Piazza and Bagwell. Canseco blew the top off everything and one of the guys he named, Pudge Rodriguez, was a first ballot entry (Canseco said he personally injected him). Ortiz is a slam dunk guy. So they will have to vote in Bonds eventually.

If they were to give him a bump, it would make more sense to do it in 2021 than 2022. There’s a very good chance only one guy (Curt Schilling) will be inducted 2021 if Bonds and Clemens don’t get in. Might as well clear the ballot and vote in all three of those guys that year.
