wtf

OBJ's stardom would have died with decrepit Eli still throwing to him

Now he gets to be on a legit contender

To Mayfield, the characteristics of a great quarterback are simple. “Either you have a history of winning and being that guy for your team,” he says, “or you don't.”

This can only come from someone who doesn’t know their history

If you’re drafting QBs and you’re evaluating using no prior experience in evaluating, that’s not a good thing.

You improve your own judgment by evaluating and seeing results. You learn your own biases

I’m a fan.
But that’s just because I’m not a fan of Russell Wilson’s schtick

But you brought up a GM from the 90s

George Young's one of the greatest GMs in league history, they didn't give his arse Executive of the Year 5x over the course of his career for nothing

If anything the Giants organization has shown they know how to draft QBs (their only 2 first round QBs have won super bowls)

Fair point with Phil Simms, not sure I'd place a tremendous amount of weight on the Philip Rivers (Eli by proxy) draft though both those guys were no-brainers at QB when they came out in 04. Maybe Jones does prove to be a viable QB in the league, I sure as hell didn't see it over the past couple of years but NFL history has a way of rebutting these arguments against such QB rookie prospects, maybe Jones proves us all wrong.

They still won two rings

I may be hot taking here, but in terms of where organizations in the NFL tend to go
I’ll bet on the giants over the browns

As I said, somehow they will frick this up

I was referring to Mayfield knowing the Browns history. He didn't play for those teams

Cleveland shite show will be glorious. Two huge douchebags on the same team. I actually feel sorry for Landry he is a humble dude who deserves to win.

I think Baker forgot that Jones played for Duke. Baker wouldn't be winning 11 games a year at Duke either. I don't really care what Baker says; he just talks before he thinks about what he's saying. I mean, he's just another person at the end of the day. Furthermore, Baker usually gets offended when someone throws things his way. I have no problem with people being blunt; just don't get offended when others do the same to you.

I actually read the quote and it didn’t seem that bad

He basically said what everyone was thinking

Although the current NFL MVP went 5-7 in his last season of college

I'm just talking about Baker in general. He's a great QB, and I think he'll do nice things. I don't really hate him, but am unimpressed with his "I'm gonna be me" schtick. Most of the time, I just laugh at what he says and does because of how sophomoric it is.
