Its only the good teams that really make your schedule hard or easy. Michigans has been harder.
Wisconsin OOC 13-0
Michigan OOC 8-4
Say Michigan had the harder schedule and it's a shaky argument. You still have to win the fricking games. Just playing against good teams isn't enough. Wisconsin played plenty of good teams OOC and they beat them all.
End of argument.

They dont hand out trophies for winning the non conference schedule.
Id say Michigans schedule has done a better job preparing them for conference play.

You sometimes are a voice of reason in some of these B1G threads, but in this case you're way off base sadly.
If you don't understand how 13-0 > 8-4 I don't know what to tell you

I get that fine, it just doesnt mean anything.

Also, Wisconsin has played 19 teams in the top 100 of the RPI.
Michigan has played 16.
Wisconsin's record in those games: 15-4
Michigan's record in those games: 10-6

Drop the 5 worst teams off both schedules and tell me who has played the harder schedule.
It Michigan by a fair amount.
As stated above, that's pretty much false.
Wisconsin has played more games against top 100 teams, and has a better win percentage on those games by a good margin as well.
Fail.

Who gives a shite about top 100 teams. What about top 50 teams?
ETA: and you didnt prove it was false either.

Trey -
What would dropping five teams do? You are adjusting Michigan's winning percentage (which would actually negatively impede on their RPI) by dropping the five worst teams on each schedule. You would have to do the same for every team remaining in the sample.
You are the one being adamant about this completely idiotic logic. You calculate it if you choose. I think you'll come out disappointed. I'll stick to the numbers the experts have provided.
I can see why you wanted me to drop the five worst teams. According to Ken Pom, three out of those five on Michigan's schedule are among the worst in the country and a fourth is knocking on the door.
Fact: Wisconsin has played every bit as difficult of a schedule as Michigan.

You said to drop the last 5 teams, that's basically what I did...
Wisconsin is 8-3 vs Top 50 teams
Michigan is 9-5 vs Top 50 teams
Again Wisconsin has a better win % in that category as well.

Wisconsin: 8-3 (.727)
Michigan: 9-5 (.642)
However, this includes conference games. You don't seem to like that. Lets compare non-conference...
Wisconsin: 3-0 (.1000)
Michigan: 1-3 (.250)

Who cares if the played a harder schedule if they didn't have a better winning percentage?

The whole thing started with the idiots on TV saying UW had a chance at a #1 seed. So thats where the SOS argument came from.
Whats UW winning percentage in conference? Thats all that really matters.
Posted on 2/26/14 at 12:35 pm to TreyAnastasio
You truly don't believe this is how RPI and SoS work, do you?
Posted on 2/26/14 at 12:35 pm to KosmoCramer
Again, we are talking about SOS. The results in the game have no impact on that.
Posted on 2/26/14 at 12:36 pm to TreyAnastasio
I also have come to realize you don't know how SoS or RPI are calculated.

I dont need to. Michigan has played more better teams than Wisconsin. You guys have provided the numbers for me.
Beating up on teams ranked 50-100 means nothing.
