Assuming they make a decent run in the conference tourney UW should be a 1 seed.
Posted on 2/25/14 at 9:54 pm to VerlanderBEAST
They would have to win out and win the tournament and get some help

They would need to win their remaining regular season games and probable just 1 win vs UM/MSU/OSU in the tourney
Cuse and Wichita should be relative locks too. UF is also a lock but they shouldn't be. Wisconsin is in that 4th spot and would be battling Wichita to see who gets the MW region.

UF would have to not win the sec tournament, and if Duke wins the ACC tournament they are going to get a look too.

Are you sure about that? Wisconsin has played the second toughest schedule in the country only behind Kansas.

You are right about UF they are a lock for 1 seed even though they absolutely don't deserve one

Some serious OOC for both those teams. Wisky also beat all 3 of those top 12 teams. Michigan lost all their big games OOC, but have recovered extremely well in conference, and split with Wisky

OK? Wisconsin has played every bit of the schedule Michigan has. Numbers would actually favor Wisconsin's SoS.

No, Michigan is clearly harder.

Because they count all the games. Michigan played some really shitty teams whereas Wisco played some shitty teams.

Wisconsin's non-conference SoS would still favor them over Michigan.
Also, you forgot to mention UW-Green Bay and St. John's in your previous post. Wisconsin beat UW-GB on the road. UW-GB beat UVA. They are just outside the top-25. Wisconsin also beat St. John's. Joe Lunardi currently has SJU in his field.
If you want to compare schedules as a whole, Wisconsin's numbers are better. If you want to compare non-conference schedules, Wisconsin's numbers are still better. The Badgers have played every bit of a difficult schedule as Michigan, if not better. Simple.

Difficult to argue with numbers that are very easy to find, if you feel inclined to look outside TreyAnastasio's SoS. Good to see your one word responses provided nothing.
CBS and Ken Pom both rate Wisconsin's non-conference schedule and schedule as a whole higher than Michigan's.
Using any other source (ESPN, Warren Nolan, Yahoo), they will also tell you that Wisconsin has a more difficult schedule than Michigan.
Hard to argue with someone that provides no compelling argument to the contrary.

Drop the 5 worst teams off both schedules and tell me who has played the harder schedule.
It Michigan by a fair amount.
It Michigan by a fair amount.

LOL. You argued that Wisconsin has not played the schedule Michigan has. I provided several sources that pointed to the contrary. You come back with "drop the five worst teams off both schedule [and get back to me]."
Again, use your own personal strength of schedule system that evidently includes dropping teams off schedules to make yours 'look better,' which may not even be the case even if I did drop teams off the schedule. Instead of the TreyAnastasio way of doing things, I'll stick with CBS, KenPom, ESPN, Warren Nolan, and Yahoo to make a point that actually makes sense: Wisconsin has played every bit the schedule as Michigan.
This is my last response pertaining to Wisconsin's strength of schedule when compared with Michigan's. You find it very difficult to accept fact, making it hard to debate with you.

So what are the SOS without the 5 worst teams on each schedule?
You get back to me on that.
You get back to me on that.

Since Wiscy has the 2nd toughest schedule in the nation as it stands, I would venture a guess that if the 5 layup games are dropped they would have the toughest schedule in the land by a long shot. Trey's analogy makes no sense.
With that said, how is it possible raft the B1G doesn't have a single team in the top 10 in either poll? I get that every team has at least 5 losses but damn...what a slap in the face to what has turned out to be an absolute brutal conference slate for all. The human element in the polls is BS.

Sure it does. Its only the good teams that really make your schedule hard or easy. Michigans has been harder.
What does it matter if you play a team ranked 100 or 200? They both suck and you should kill both. The only difference comes when figuring out SOS.

Nope, as per always, I am very correct.
