If there is another bullpen game I will be so pissed. Hopefully AJ starts a game

My money is on a bullpen game with somebody like Chavez starting but with the plan to get 3 or 4 from AJSS

Soroka needed to be sent back down. He’s just not ready. He got hammered in both starts considering the opponents. I think his new mechanics may present him an unfortunate problem

Yeah, trying to turn a pitch to contact ground ball/sinker pitcher into a strikeout guy isn't something I see going well.

All his pitches graded as negative and his hard hit ball % was 45%. He simply isn't ready. Not that AJSS is either most likely, no really great options here.

I'm not worried about Soroka in the long run.

Control is always the last thing to come back after a long layoff. The stuff is there, he just needs to harness his control and he'll be good.

I don't even think it's that. He's still using his sinker primarily and his change. But he has gained velocity on his 4-seamer and therein lies the issue. He hasn't learned how to harness and control it yet like he can his other pitches.

But I don't think sending him down to do that against AAAA players and hitters is the answer, either. I mean 2 starts? Come on AA. And I'm the most pro-AA guy in here but I'm not w/this one at all.

His average FA velocity in his starts this season is 93.2, almost identical to his 92.9 average in 2019. He threw 44.5% sinkers in 2019, and 23.9 so far this season. So no, nothing like you are saying.

He needs to gain command of his pitches and get innings, he can do that in the minors just as well as he can here.

I'd prefer he do that in the bigs.

Not that long ago I was super excited for every call up. Now it’s meh. But that’s how it goes for clubs not named the Rays and Dodgers, eventually you run out of guys to call up

Munoz is a name I've heard before. Some of the people who do a lot of Braves MiLB coverage wrote about him last year. Apparently he has electric, electric stuff but does not know how to harness it. His numbers in Gwinnett this year seem to support that.

His fastball is very lively. Does have secondary pitch command issues.

Whew. Braves dodged a bullet there that nobody grabbed him from us. So glad we can still bring Luetge back up for some key high leverage spots.
