Braves reinstated Hamels from the 45-day IL after optioning Jasseel De La Cruz to the alternate training site. Here's to hoping they don't push him too hard and he looks good in his Braves debut!

1. Acuna CF
2. Freeman 1B
3. Ozuna LF
4. d'Arnaud DH
5. Swanson SS
6. Duvall RF
7. Riley 3B
8. Flowers C
9. Albies 2B

another weird arse prospect move. He would have made sense last night after ynoa left early. Why call him up for a day if you're not going to use him in his most likely role?

Finally get to see Hamels in a Braves uniform. Not sure how well he'll play after not playing a live game in such a long time

Because Snit. That's really the only answer to the question. The man makes some of the dumbest decisions regarding pitching.

would he though? or would you be bitching today after Snit brings him in to guard a 2 run lead and De La Cruz blows it. MM was already warming up in the 9th when the Braves scored 3 insurance runs.

A prospect who has never pitched above AA ball would have made sense to come into a 2-0 game, instead of O’Day and the rest of the backend of the pen?

lol you would be melting if the kid came in and blew the lead.

you don't pitch him just because he was called up. I'm glad to have the win.

I'm glad they didn't use him last night. You don't want to debut him in the same kind of scenario where they debuted Weigel. That was maybe the dumbest pitching decision Snit has ever made.

De La Cruz would have made more sense in a situation like Monday night where the game was way out of hand and he could make his debut in a stress free environment.

Lol I'm not disagreeing with you here. That was more or less a general statement on how the pitching staff has been managed all season.

Have we talked about how the playoff structure with no days off is gonna wind up hosing us bigly? Every team is gonna HAVE to throw their #4 guys and likely their 5. I suppose our deep bullpen will be an advantage, but I’m not sure it will alleviate the disadvantage we have against teams with deep rotations. Oh well.

You think Snit is making the decisions on who gets called up and sent down?

Is that what I said? My comment was regarding not using him/the management of the staff.

At what point would've been a good time to use him yesterday?

Snit managed last night’s game pretty well imo.

I thought the same thing when it was announced but I was listening to MLB Network Radio today and they were making the case that the Braves may benefit more than any other team. No team’s 4 or 5 will be able to stop the Braves offense. They smash back ends of rotations. Starting pitching is already a disadvantage but getting a game or two where neither team has a good starter benefits the Braves was their case.

I'll give you credit that you never waiver from thinking that everything is a positive for the Braves.

Hamels told Rosenthal 55-60 pitches tonight. Said if he feels he doesn’t have it he will tell Snit and finish his work in the tunnel.
