No he will not be our starting catcher. I think it is either a time share with a vet like Zuk or McCann (not sure those combos can hold up or not) or he is the backup to Grandal, Realmuto, Posey or someone like that.

He is insurance in case they are unable to land Realmuto or Grandal. I would be fine starting the year with him behind the plate as long as they have a plan to get Jackson up at some point.

Thoughts on Jackson? Was awful most of this year. Seems like they are down on him to me. Contreras seems to have established himself as the clear catcher of the future within the org but he is not an option until ‘20 in all likelihood.
