This is the dumbest take.
Mets have 59 games left and we have 58. We just need to go 3 games better than the Mets the final 58 games of the season.
Of our 58 games left 26 of those are against .500 or below teams. Mets have 32 games left against teams .500 or below. We have our work cut out for us but to say we have to go 9 out of 11 games left with the Mets is crazy.
We could go 6 and 5 with them and as long as we beat the under .500 teams and split the other games we will be right there.
The keys will be how do the Braves and Mets play their under .500 teams. So far this season the Braves have played better then the Mets at under .500 clubs. Also the Braves have by far been the hottest team in baseball since June. If they keep up the pace we will win the division handily. I still think it comes down to the last week of the season with the Mets and Marlins.

For it to be in our hands that's what we have to do. If we don't you're relying on other teams to get you a game or two. I doubt we have the exact same record against other opponents for the rest of the year though.

Not an acquisition. Everyone already factored his eventual return into the equation. These guys are talking about deadline deals.
