Yes
And Charlie gave up two homers but got some bad luck on the bloop before one of them and the check swing to bring in the fourth run.
He’s not as bad as you think. He’s a good 4 guy. Only pitches once in a 7 game series if all goes well.
Who are the better 4 guys in the league?

He's got an ERA nearly 5 in his last 7 starts and 1.33 WHIP.
He's washed.
Also, Alvarez isn't ready yet. We may call him up out of necessity this year (hope we don't), but he needs at least one more year on the farm before we start his clock. He's hitting it good since getting promoted to Gwinnett last month, but I'm not sure how real his hit tool is yet.

But he’s a #4 guy
Who in the league has a #4 guy that is much better?

Problem is that when opponent scores 3+ we haven’t won since April 17 in Houston.
We need to be able to win some games when the 4 and 5 guys are pitching and give up 4-5 runs.

How many 4's are making $20m?
For a front office that preaches financial flexibility, Charlie isn't exactly offering that.

In your world, half the roster is trash. You have some points, but the constant negativity gets old.

Hard to believe it took Holmes ten years to make the bigs. He’s been solid.

Kinda is right now. Do you see the OPS's we're trotting out right now?

We're bout to lose yet another series at home in a year where we were the bettering favorite to win the World Series... sorry for not being more bubbly.

The issue is we are paying him 20 mil a year to be a 4th guy, most teams aren't paying that kind of money for that kind of production.
We could have had Sonny Gray for 25 mil a year. If you are spending 20 mil a year there needs to be some upside, we knew Morton was a 4ish ERA guy who was close to done after last season.

Literally everyone was celebrating in the offseason thread when Passan initially reported that we were declining Morton's option only for that to not be true. Now we have a lot of people being Stockholm Syndromed by him because we're stuck with him for another year.

I prefer a victory lap of 2021 NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario than running Wall out there also.

Six outs away from only being 2 games up on San Diego for the first wild card spot with a series with Philly looming.

Another example of our luck…
Bummer has a close to 4 ERA with ZERO barreled balls.

To be fair
The betting favorite has lost
Reigning Unanimous MVP
Cy Young Favorite
for the year.
Also missing time this year:
Starting C, 2B, 3B, SS, CF
Would love to be doing better, but we’ve had shite luck this year.
Hoping things go our way in second half.

Sure, but lets not act like Ronnie or Harris were setting the world on fire before the injuries, meanwhile Ozzie, Olson and Riley have been meh at best this season.
And you can make the argument that we were better off at the plate when TDA was getting the bulk of the starts with Murphy out.
Something has been off about this offense from the very beginning and it's beyond just bad luck.

Unlucky stuff again tonight
Bad luck explains a 2 week cold stretch. You can't just claim bad luck when they've sucked for 2 months.

Yeah, this isn't bad luck. The broadcast team has been carrying that narrative for months, by showing meaningless "barreled balls" and exit velocity numbers. Nobody can be that unlucky for this long. Statcast is horrendously flawed in how it records things. I can't count the number of times a Braves hitter has beat the ball almost straight into the ground and the ball hops over to a fielder, and it shows as being over 100 MPH. How can you hit the top of the baseball and have it register at such a high velocity? In no world is beating the ball right into the ground, a few feet in front of the plate, a well hit ball.
I do not see any sign of consistent bad luck as an explanation. They are not squaring balls up, regardless of what some wacked out system tries to say otherwise.
And the injuries, while they suck and no one wishes them on anyone, are also no excuse, when considering that the guys who are out weren't/haven't been good. Obviously, the hope is that guys will turn it around, and they can't do that if they aren't on the field, so that hurts. But outside of Ozuna (prior to the last 3 weeks) and a brief hot streak from a couple of others guys, nobody has hit well this year.

I think TDA needs some ABs to get his mojo back offensively.
Is there no world where we play Ozuna in left again so we could have both catchers in the lineup?
Wall’s best attribute is his speed and he’s been thrown out the last two times he’s tried to steal.
