Good Lord Ronnie. Did one of the two things you can't do in that spot lol.

Yeah, that sucks. I thought it might even be worse than that, though. Any idea how that stacks up to the rest of the league?

That’s what Ronnie needed to do

Two straight innings where the winning run can't get past 3rd base. Wtf

We haven’t been good at small ball at all since this core came up. No surprise we’re so bad in extras.
The formula we have is essentially:
-Hit the ball harder than anyone else (we’re last in contact rate but first in hard hit rate and barrel%)
-Don’t hit into double plays (we usually hit liners, fly balls or strike out)
-Don’t give up home runs (our pitchers have consistently been at the top of HR% allowed)
-Strike a lot of guys out (Lead MLB in K% by the staff)
Bunting guys over seems kind of silly when we’re so bad at getting them in.

We are embarrassing in extra innings, on the whole. They just seem to forget how to hit when it gets there. We didn't even need a hit from Ronald, and couldn't get it done.

It is second worst winning % in the majors. Only Dodgers are worse since 2020. Dodgers only win in extras this year was against us.

He didn’t even need to do that. With 1 out, the OF was still playing in. All he needed was a routine pop up/fly out that had Soto moving back away from the plate. He’s not throwing anybody out going backwards, no matter where he eventually oiled have caught it.

If you’re the visitor I also wonder why teams don’t walk more leadoff batters. That run doesn’t matter and sets up the double play

I would assume it’s because a lot of times you’re so deep into the pen it’s lessening your margin for error as far as walks, HBP, etc.

Dansby has been busy this inning
