Me too. And I think I’d start him the next time Soroka’s spot in the rotation comes up. He doesn’t have the stuff or command right now to consistently get major league hitters out. I’m not giving up on him, but he’s not quite ready, and it’s more than just needing a few starts to knock the rust off. Knock it off in Gwinnett.

Yeah, hopefully this performance gets him out there on the regular. If he's gonna be up instead of in the minors getting innings, he needs to be pitching multiple times per week.
He keeps pitching like this and Soroka still stays rough he might find himself 5th starter.

We certainly need pen help, but we also need 5th starter help. He’s been a starter all year. Now, he’s back out there. Let’s say he goes 3 scoreless, but we still lose because we got a bad start from Soroka. And I’m not saying to make that move permanent, just give him a shot and see what happens. We know he’s got the stuff. Maybe he’s a dude, too, shoves, and never comes out of the rotation for the next 5-6 seasons.
Again, not ideal, but we may need to start taking a few more risks with our younger farm guys since we need more help than a Dodd/Shewmake/whoever package could land us. With the expanded playoffs, bullpen help is going to always be a seller’s market.

They gave him the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 before they started him.

They have a symbiotic relationship. If your 5th starter can’t get out of the 4th, you’re asking your already taxed pen to get 15+ outs in a game you’re losing.
I’m not saying they should panic. Just that we might have to be creative and think outside the box a bit. Nothing should automatically be off the table.
