We’re facing a lefty, so looks like Eli will be in the lineup and maybe Murph at DH. Off day tomorrow, so all hands on deck out of the bullpen.

If Murphy is in the lineup, he'll catch while Drake is DH. I'm getting a little concerned about Drake's workload. He has played every game this season, a lot of them at catcher. He's going to need a day or two off at some point.

Drake, and the Braves, had an off day before this series and will have an off day after the series. Drake’s a young man and isn’t putting in more of a workload than Olson or Riley. He can handle it.

6-3 road trip if we handle business today.
For the first time in a couple of weeks, I took a hard look at the standings. Some things that stand out to me:
Only 12 teams of the 30 are above .500
Of those, only 4 AL teams have winning records.
3 divisions only have one team above .500
All 5 teams in the NL Central are above .500
Cleveland is 21-20 and leads the AL Central, meanwhile
Reds are 21-19 and are dead last in the NL Central

Catching is much more physically taxing than playing a corner infield spot, especially once the weather heats up.

Some really kind words out there from guys who weren’t even Braves.

But those corner infielders are out there everyday. Murphy will be doing half of the catching.
“ As of May 10, 2026, Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin has played 29 games at catcher in the 2026 season. He has served as the primary catcher while also appearing as the designated hitter in 15 other games during the 2026 season” - fan graphs

Murphy will probably be doing a bit more than half I think he’s still better behind the plate but Baldwin is improving
And he has got to earn that contract somehow because he fricking sucks at hitting now

The Olson trade might be the 2nd best AA pulled off as a brave
First is Chris sale for Vaughn Grissom obviously. We will likely never get a better and more lop sided deal
Boston also sent 17 million in cash to cover his contract. AA had dirt on someone in Boston
Lineup
Dubon LF
Baldwin DH
Albies 2B
Olson 1B
Riley 3B
Harris CF
Eli White RF
Murphy C
Mateo SS

Olson very well may be the better long term deal for the Braves, but consider that the Braves could’ve signed Freddie and kept the catching duo of Contreras and Langeliers.

But if Langeliers was putting up his numbers for another team in the NL East or the Dodgers, I'd be raging.

Grissom is actually starting to hit well with the angels too. He’s got an average over .300 and a few homers
Langiers is going insane for the As this year though

Allen for Dubon is an AA trade masterpiece. Dubby is getting $6 million, but he’s worth twice that.
Posted on 5/10/26 at 1:37 pm to 257WBY
We should extend him
Im 99% sure he is on an expiring.

Dubons versatility defensively is worth anything

Hes like a better defensive Brujan that can actually hit better than me in 6th grade travel ball.
Love the guy
