Regardless Jackson should have been out of the game. You bring in your best reliever left to clean up the mess. Smith.

I think this is where I and many others will disagree. Until that double tonight, Betts hadn't hit at all in this series. Somehow, Trea Turner has been even worse. If you get those two bats when they aren't hitting, you HAVE to take advantage of it.

I also don't expect Buehler and Scherzer to be that bad again. We can't blow chances against them because they're going to get a lot more chances th

yup. theyre too good. you wont get mulligans against them

you finish them when down or they will make u pay.

If you're willing to pitch Luke against Bellinger, you should've just taken your chances and tried Smith for a 5 out save since it would've been atleast a lefty lefty match up.

Which is why winning one in LA means we won't have to do that.

Tonight sucks, not only because of the loss, but how we lost and how close we were to basically ending this series. But it was still just one game.

I'm all in on the fatalistic attitude of being a Braves fan... but take the emotions out of the loss and you realize we're in an ideal spot. The Dodgers are just as flawed of a team as we are and we have the upper-hand in the series right now.

My only caveat to this is that I think we've got to win it in 6, which means we've got to get a win in LA to have that shot. And, taking that further, I think things get much, much worse if we lose tomorrow. We'll have to win game 5 to avoid two must wins, and that in itself is a pressure cooker setup where I don't think the Braves will thrive.

Thus, I think it comes down to tomorrow. It's a game that we probably shouldn't win and it's the last game where we can arguably be a little loose before the elimination pressure mounts. Grind out a win and we're in a reasonably dominant position. Lose and the overreactions from tonight become the absolute reality.

When they signed him it was their idea but they have tried to get him to abandon hitting lefty a couple different times and he doesn’t want to now.

They've got to try and talk him into stopping. He is holding himself back so much.

You disagree only because you're a Braves fan.

And before tonight, Freddie struckout 7 times, so lets not act like we squeaked out 2 wins while playing at our full power while they weren't.

Based on recent trends (September & postseason), these two teams are pretty evenly matched.

Yeah I’m not giving up hope.

This Braves crew has some serious fight and resilience to it.

Don't get me wrong, the fact that it's the Braves gives me no confidence in it actually happening.

But, from a pure analytical standpoint, there's still a better percentage of us winning the series than losing it.

Tomorrow is HUGE, but if I had to bet, I’d say that we head back to Atlanta up 3-2. I think any of us would have taken that last week. It’s easy to say “same story different year,” and we may very well say that, but tonight isn’t what decided that.

It is what it is, today sucked… but it’s not like we had to take a 3-0 lead to win this series. Anyone who went into this series expecting that was fooling themselves.

We’re still in an ideal position

Umm yes it is. Win tonight and the series is basically over. How is that hard to comprehend.

Sure but because the Dodgers won doesn’t mean that the series is over.

Stop putting that team on a pedestal, we can beat them.

Luke Jackson’s deep thoughts on his pitches

I want to like him so much. He seems like a great dude and an awesome guy to have in the clubhouse, but damn. You just can't let that kind of shite happen in that situation. Bellinger may have been the worst hitter in baseball the last few years, and he's the one who you let beat you. I know he's been better in the playoffs, but fricking ouch.

honestly

IDGAF what the series looks like or looked like

up 3-0 down 3-0 does not matter

you simply cannot blow a 3 run lead in the 8th on the road to a team you are snake bit and cursed against.

it is the principle of the matter.

because the braves are perennial chokers. just saying. truth hurts
lets pray we are even in that position to win again. we might get throttled 10-0 tomm and need a miracle from max to even get back top atlanta up 3-2. what if we lose all 3?

point is it never shoulda cam down to this. capitalize and finish teams off when you have them down for the count.

lets see if we melt now like last year.

i could handled getting destroyed 20-0 or even a 7-1 game where we never had a lead. that i can handle. i simply cannot handle braves choking blowing chances.

What I’m saying is that we are now going to find out if this team is the “same old Braves.” Did you really expect to sweep the Dodgers? We lost a game in a 7-game series. If you want to melt over that then baseball is not for you.
