I don’t see how Freddie’s absence has hurt us in this series when Olson has been the best hitter in the entire playoffs by OPS.
Edit: in the NL

I was telling my son that his velocity had dropped to 95-96 from 98-100 during the early part of the 3rd. Was thinking he would be pulled after the 3rd anyway but damn.

Not talking about this series, talking about our whole overall offensive approach.
This offense is way too boom or bust.
You can't tell me with a straight face that this team isn't better with Freddie. He changes the whole dynamic of a lineup.

All this pitching talk aside, we have to start hitting the damn ball.

We are incapable of stringing hits together.

I think y’all underestimate the difference between pitching from the windup and the stretch. Especially for a smaller guy like Strider. He is so efficient from the windup. Has to stress a little more out of the stretch. I don’t think that slight tic down in velo was that concerning until it was too late. A lot of Monday morning QB-ing here.
Frankly, I was encouraged by his outing overall. He’s a rookie in his 1st playoff game—on the road—and hasn’t pitched in a month. Those 1st 2 innings were something to build on.
But like Broski said, this lineup is just not good enough right now. He’s talking overall, I think it’s more just how they’re currently (not) hitting. And we REALLY miss Ozzie. For lots of reasons. His switch hitting would really help extend this lineup.
Oh well. That’s what so great about baseball. Every day is a new one. Momentum rarely carries over from one game to the next. Just got to be smart with the pen today.

Hard to score runs when Acuña, Olson and TDA are the only hitters with a pulse in the series.
Really need Dansby, Riley and MH3 to wake up soon. I assume Grossman and Contreras will be back in tomorrow too.

You are in there to throw strikes and eat innings, you fricking frick. Quit trying to nibble and just go after people.

Which is exactly my point.
Besides Olson, the other two are using all fields and working counts. Meanwhile, we got Eddie coming up in the 9-hole and hacking for the fences 1st pitch. We have a slumping Riley swinging at the first pitch after Olson drew a walk. Our plan A approach is hit homers, which awesome if it works, but when it doesn't, we don't have a plan B except swing for the fences harder. A hitter like Freddie in the lineup doesn't remedy all of that, but it certainly helps piece together a lineup.

When was the last time Ozuna did anything of positive consequence in a game that actually mattered? He’s an automatic out.

Doesn’t matter whether he throws strikes or not. I hope the Phillies score 40 runs off him and his arm falls off live on Fox.

Maybe not, but I can tell you to quit fricking whining about it. He chose the Dodgers. He’s not on this team. Get the frick over it.

Sorry for pointing out a glaring hole in our lineup. It's not whining. It's understanding our issues.
It's always going to be a relevant data point, especially if the Dodgers get over the hump this postseason. If you can't handle that, not sure what to tell you.

The most frustrating thing is that our offense has been absolutely anemic since the Mets series.
