I'm deferring judgement on his comeback until the Masters. If he isn't in contention on the back 9 Sunday afternoon then I don't see him winning #15 any time soon.

You said it yourself. He can't put 4 straight rounds together.

How old was Jack when he won #18?

tiger has at least 10 more years ahead of him. if he doesn't contend this year, i will not consider him done. remember, jack was 38 when he won #15.

Tiger was "in contention" of last year's Master's during the back 9.

I'm not pulling for Tiger to break the record, but just because he isn't the machine that he once was, doesn't mean that he's not capable of pulling one or two magical weekends out. Mickelson hasn't been anywhere close to winning recently and then all of the sudden, 64 on Sunday to win a presitgious tournament. I can definitely see Tiger finding a way to win a couple of more majors.

He better find his putting stoke. He averaged 30 putts a round on the Monterrey penisula. He knows those greens as well as any.

I remember the days when he never missed a putt inside 10 feet. Now he's an ordinary putter.

Honestly tiger makes less bogies now than he used to , but he makes far less birdies now too.

His game now is centered around not making mistakes and before it was just shoot as low as you can and deal with the bogies.

In 2000 arguably his best season ever he averaged almost 5 birdies per round, last year he averaged just under 4

The more you change things in golf, the more baggage you are lugging around with you. there is always that proclivity to revert to what used to work or not fully commit, or have the creeping memory of a past mistake on a hole in a tournament years ago and let doubt creep in.

Tiger = lack of total focus which was a huge advantage for him. That goes with his mental state. Which is nowhere near what it used to be. Alot of people on here say its a physical thing with Tiger, BUT It has been and always will be. GOLF = 90% mental and 10% physical.

I'd venture to say its almost less than 10% physical. Some guys like Corey Pavin have been successful hitting the ball about 270 on average and still winning tournaments. As long as you can repeat your swing over and over again its just a mind game.

Pavin is more accurate with his 4 wood then I am with a sand wedge.
