i think it's more indicative of the lack of talent on the big league club. That's the main reason these guys are even getting a shot

Yeah. Top 3 in MLB is awful. You try way too hard.

Not sure that "Astros" and "drama" belong in the same paragraph let alone the same sentence. There is no drama about the Astros. They will suck. Its like reading the end of the book first. How can you say it has any drama if you know how it ends. They need to really consider transferring to AAA ball. There has to be some AAA team that can compete better at the ML level.

Bump the thread where you argued about where the Astros would finish in the nl central two years after they moved to the AL.

Thats twice now you've said this and I have no idea what you're talking about.

You and LE can be the deflect brothers. You two are great at it. Like cool online twinsies. lulz

What the frick do JD Martinez and Bo Porter have to do with anything regarding this topic? JD Martinez was given numerous chances and did not perform. He got a change of scenery, hidding behind a potent lineup, and is succeeding. No one knows if he will sustain his production from last year and if he does, good for him.

No dude. The Astros have much bigger issues to worry about than starting pitching depth. Like, what the frick are the going to do since the lost delino deshields jr in the rule five draft.

ETA... This thread is full of stupid. Prom... You're an A-hole for bumping this. But I'm glad you did... Has been entertaining.

he way Astros fans have reacted to Aiken having TJ is pretty pathetic

I haven't seen one more that's happy the kid got hurt. I know I'm not, I can't wish for someone's dream/career to go down the drain. It is validation though and, as fans, helps us swallow the fact that, while he could still end up being great, they did this because they were trying to protect themselves.

As an Astros fan all my life, I don't want them to be perceived as callous or treating players like they are just a statistic. Stats and sabermetrics are all well and good but sports are about more than that. I want my team to have a good reputation who plays hard, values camaraderie, etc. The entire organization was shite on because of this by almost the entire baseball community. They haven’t come out and said “Seeeee, this is why we did what we did, assholes.”

Now, the Astros and their fans are pathetic because we feel some validation about this decision. We didn’t want to see a 1.1 pick go down the drain.

Like I give a shite about LE.

I think the Cubs prospects (outside of Bryant and Russell) are highly overrated too.

Well there are tons of questions heading into the near future. like finding guys that will play C, 1B, 3B, 2 OF spots. Finding #1 and #2 starters.

Some prospects don't pan out. I'm sure we could find you slobbing all over some Cubs prospect three years ago that didn't work out.

That's a pretty stupid point. Yeah, DeShields was once an exciting prospect. He hasn't shown shite though and that is why not many cared when the Rangers picked him up in the Rule 5.

You are really really pathetic when it comes to anything related to the Astros.

Let's play a game, who said this?

wow, ryno. The guy is 21 years old. His last two seasons have been very strong. Honestly, if he continues on his current development path, and Altuve continues on his current MLB path, DDS will overtake Altuve sometime in the 2015 season.

Personally, I think DDS will eventually be the Astros 2nd baseman/outfield for many years. He just has to get the rest of the "my dad was a pro, so I deserve to be a pro too" out of him and replace it with "i worked my arse off and I deserve to be a pro".

Just shooting you straight. You have proven to be very knowledgable in regards to Major League Baseball as a whole, but as soon as anything relating to the Astros is discussed your dislike for them causes rationale to fly out the window.

I don't get it. I don't care, just thought you should know.
