Maybe that's the route they go.
i doubt it, but they should imo. Artest's act has grown old. Sure he hasnt been as bad in recent years but enough is enough with this fool.

And no, no problem...just disagreeing on what you deem "appropriate" for the suspension.

Fair enough. Maybe I'm just looking at it in an isolated state and not accounting for the history of Artest when I make the prediction, which certainly has to be weighed in.
Think it's fair to say the league could be moderate heavy (4-7 games) to heavy in their suspension (8+). No one's really quite sure.

I only read page 8 of this thread, but is anyone else just as upset about Metta sqauring off at half court with the rest of the Thunder team as about the original elbow?
The elbow was plenty of bad, but about the only excuse that Metta could have was that it was a "heat of the moment" deal. What can he possibly say to excuse the fact that he was ready to fight the entire OKC team after giving one guy a concussion? To me, that's just as bad as the first act. The NBA can't have a guy out there constantly looking to fight. At some point Metta has to figure out, "Hey, I did something wrong, I should apologize and I understand why the other team is upset." But he never thinks that. All that goes through his mind is "You tryin' to front on me, I'm gonna handle bizness."

Holy fricking shite you just did NOT compare Ron Artest/Metta World Peace to Trayvon Martin and that situation.
Wow...

agree 100%. He was in full metta world war mode in the moment, ready to stab someone on the chest w/ the chair of a wooden table.

Agreed that those two are nowhere near comparable, so I'm not even gonna touch it.

GD Pussification of America. Give him a few games, a fine and move on homos. It's a contact sport. Some of you are the reason why my grandchildren will see Football outlawed.

And here we have the opposite end up the spectrum.

It is funny, but that's the exact attitude that Ron Artest/Metta World Peace has always shown. A few weeks ago I read the big article looking back at the Malice at the Palace. Ron Artest had no idea that what he just did was about to land him in huge trouble. He wondered if he would get suspended for it. In his mind, he was wronged by the cup being thrown at him (he was correct on being wronged), so he thought that excused him from starting the worst fan/player brawl in NBA history, not to mention he went and wailed on the an innocent bystander. At some point you have to let other people do their jobs (refs, stadium security, etc).
Some people just don't understand how to behave in a civil society.

I truly don't wanna go the "have you ever played a sport route", but I think it fits lol.
Obviously he started the deal with the elbow to the head.
But the "heat of the moment" thint still applies. And when 3 or 4 guys from the other team are coming at you, you're not gonna run away or back down because you feel bad about throwing an elbow. If guys are coming at you, you're ready to go.

He didn't wail on an innocent bystander. That little punk got exactly what he deserved for getting on the court and bowing up to a player.

Whatev, it's the kind of post from someone who understands what happens when grown men (even young men) compete. Not scared =/= total bad arse. Then again, it's relative. Maybe compared to you I am.

Then be ready to get suspended for a long time. I'm expecting the league to suspend him for 4+ games. I hope it was worth it.
FWIW, I don't buy the "heat of the moment" excuse. Metta is the one trying to use that excuse by saying he "celebrated" too hard. If everything was an accident, where was the remorse and reaching out to the guy that "accidently" got elbowed in the head?
