PLO is a wasteland of filth, treachery, and gambling (all things i hate)
but it fascinates me for some reason
Got absolutely destroyed in a 2/5 PLO game on Saturday. Made me not even want to play it anymore.

So while they get lucky and crack my AA's with their 9 10 off suit, i can't even get cards resembling a 9 10, to even take their cash. But guy next to me is getting face face and lining his pocket.
Had a guy like that at the casino locally. He was pushing on garbage, but i couldn't do shite, even when i got to see a flop, i missed badly. But finally after 2 hours of petering along, i began to get cards i could make moves on, and i cleaned him out.
brother i get it. i'm in a huge downswing the past month
i'd have taken time off but i had to grind hours for the $25k freeroll this weekend
i ran $300 to almost $4k profit in 2 months and that roll has been decimated. i'm still in the positive but nowhere near that $4k after this downswing. just card dead and then i get dealt brutal shite (like AA cracked by a flopped set or having 2 boats get 2-outed on the river for bigger boats, etc)

the issue with live PLO here is the PLO game is insanely massive. way too big to frick around in unless your roll is $100k+

Exactly. But their are idiots here who will say you suck because you don't beat this. Anybody can take out the dummies when you catch the cards, but it takes catching them. It takes pretty much playing only top notch cards to have the chance to take them out. So, you sit and let the blinds eat you up while you wait for the opportunity.
If you understand probabilities, if you get the money in with the better hand, over the long run, you'll win money.

sat down at a PLO game once while I was waiting for a 2/5 NLHE seat to open up. very first hand, it was around $1500 to see the flop. I noped the frick out of there

I miss the days of being able to walk into multiple bars and jump into a cash game. I spent most of my college nights playing pot limit cash games. I worked to get money to play poker, and paid my bills with poker winnings. That was some easy pickings back then, when poker was super popular and everybody watched it on tv and thought they could play. It was nothing to throw up $30 to enter a cash game and walking away from the table with $500.
I wanted to be a dealer back then, because those bastards were walking away with $1,000 a night for dealing cards.

Up until SFP just informed me, I didn't think playing for money online was even possible.
I'm sure not dumping money in if people play the same way as they do with fake money though.

You 2 whiners need to drink in the above and learn to live by its truth.
If you feel you should always get what "you deserve" then poker isnt for you.
If you can't deal with a temporary swing in negative variance aka bad luck then poker isnt for you.

there is a counter to this
you always have to get your "big cards" in equally-sized pots
if you consistently take down 10 BBs with AA but then lose 100 BBs with AA to a set, you are going to lose in the long-term if you can't learn to minimize the losses and maximize your big hands. there is nothing more profitable in live poker than entitlement tilt. value betting (over-betting, if possible) when you know a guy has KK or AA and will call out of spite (esp if they want to tell the table how unlucky they are) is the most profitable thing you can do in poker

i'm wearing a blue puma jacket (usually zipped up to my chin) or a taxation is theft hoodie

no it's just cold and i don't want to wear a proper jacket at a casino, so i have a light jacket and a hoodie (the hoodie is new i used to only wear the jacket)

i used to support myself in law school playing 4-8 limit at the belle

Without getting into specifics, my overriding point still stands. If you know you're playing donks and you're not winning over a representative sample size, you are in deed one of them.
I'm about as average as you can get in poker. Played for years and with all the 1000s of hands i've probably played, i'm probably eerily close to breaking even. But I understand my flaws are my flaws, all that didn't happen because I'm better than average, but just had a run of bad luck over 1000s of hands.
