well "playable" isn't always "shite"

and it protects your range. your weaker holdings protect your stronger holdings. if you just nut peddle, people will play to stack you with their range or fold with medium-strength hands that you likely block

if your "late position 3x" range is AA, KK, QQ, AKs, or AQs (basically the "non-shite" starting range...possibly KQs), then everyone with a brain will know your exact range and can easily play accordingly to stack you. loose calls can easily become profitable over time with easily-defined ranges and an understanding of flop textures

you have to incorporate low pocket pairs, Ax suited (preferably 2-5), lower broadway suited, and suited connectors to balance out your range. you don't have to play these weaker holdings as often as your premium hands, but you need to open them probably 20-33% of the time in LP to keep your entire range in the hand

I got you, and that's pretty much how I would play it. I guess I did a poor job of explaining it. Anyway, my purpose of this thread was the find a better place to play online and I've accomplished that. Been playing on ignition pretty much all day and it's been much better. Might drop some $ and test out the cash games.

Playing on pokerstars....no I did not. What's the point of sitting in a late position and raising 3 times the BB preflop with shite cards, then coming back with a pot size bet/raise on the flop if it's going to get called all the way down to the river no matter what?

Well that's the thing. You're trying to discuss real poker strategy in a play money game. It's just not close to the same game.

fake money + tournament

you can get AA every hand and if you get 3-4 callers every time, you'll bust out before the first blind raise (likely in the first full orbit)

unless you're the elite of the elite playing in big tournies online, tournaments are -EV

Yeah, I'm aware. That is why I was in search of a different site. One that's not advertised on every WSOP television commercial. Just to sort of even out the number of semi-legit players vs. all-in every hand type of players. It seems like I found it in Ignition.
