Are the Milwaukee Bucks the NBA's next Oklahoma City?

With the trade of Ersan Ilyasova, the Bucks will have up to $22 Million in cap room for this upcoming offseason, and a fairly stocked roster under already under contract. Early rumors are that Milwaukee and surprisingly very-good young coach Jason Kidd are poised to make a run at either Tyson Chandler or Brooke Lopez with a large chunk of that cap space.
Here is Milwaukee's projected starting lineup:
1. Michael Carter-Williams
2. Khris Middleton
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo
4. John Henson
5. Free Agent Center
6. Jabari Parker
7. Zaza Pachulia
8. Jared Bayless
9. Jared Dudley* (option, likely)
10. Miles Plumlee
11. Johnny O'Brien
12. #13 draft pick
If you're the Bucks, do you roll the dice on a long term deal for Brooke Lopez with his injury past? Do you split the difference on a big money, but short-term deal with Tyson Chandler and hope to groom a big or trade for one in the near future? Do you plug the gap with a lower-dollar Robin Lopez and tread water as a 4th or 5th best team in the East while figuring out a more solid long-term future?
No matter what, the Bucks are likely looking at an absolute floor of 4th or 5th seed in the East for the next several seasons so long as they don't have horribley injury luck. What if they are able to nab a Sam Dekker with the #13 overall pick this draft and he winds up turning into a Chandler Parsons type player? What if they're able to pluck Marquette alum Jimmy Butler from the Bulls 90 miles away with a max deal and the allure of playing for Jason Kidd and/or getting away from Chicago management while staying close to his current group of friends.
With a new arena deal on the horizon, a bevy of talented and humble young stars under cheap contracts, and a new analytical ownership group with a very good young coach, the Milwaukee Bucks are possibly the most intriguing team in the NBA since Oklahoma City emerged in the late 00's.

They have a very bright future, and they are an outstanding defensive team.
They need a guy to score though.

yeah the bucks should be a playoff team in the East.....30 wins will get them that right?

Can you imagine the length if they signed Tyson Chandler? It would be the most stifling defense in recent NBA history - you might actually see games in the 70's and 80's on a regular basis.

They don't have the star players that OKC did.
I think they're the next Indiana Pacers. A team that could challenge Cleveland but come up short.

I agree with this.
ETA: Or like Atlanta this year.

i like the bucks a lot and what they are building. they shouldn't splooge and go for a huge FA this off season. they have a good core being built.

They need to trade up in the Draft and get Justice Winslow

Their timing is way better than the Pacers. Their 2 best players are still on rookie contracts for 2 and 3 more seasons respectively. They can add 1 huge piece and 1 mid level piece, whereas the Pacers could only ever add the 1 midlevel piece. Plus they have one last semi-high draft pick this year (#13) that could still net them an impact player (Sam Dekker or Euro baller).

I really like them but they do not have one guy on that squad who can take over a game offensively. Unless that guy is Parker

Would be a very interesting idea. What does everybody think of their new uniforms and arena plan BTW? Has this been discussed?

I actually think that Giannis is closer to that guy than Parker.

They need a go to perimeter scorer.

Giannis is a really good player, but he's not going to carry them offensivey. Parker is definitely that guy long term.

Their jerseys are incredible and some of the best "rebranding" in the last decade.

If you're spending the "bulk" of $22 million at the center position, why not go after DeAndre?
I think they'd be better off using that money on 2 guys... Monta(once he opts out) and a guy like Robin Lopez or Omer Asik

uniforms have been discussed
I don' think the arena has been discussed. It looks alot like the SXM airport terminal, but that is still better than the SKC.
