Anyone here became an NHL fan during NBA season this year?

The players in the NBA are some of the most unlikeable humans on Earth. Along with them coasting through much of the season, I turned my eyes to watching more Pittsburgh and Nashville games. Even watched a little Amateur League hockey during the holidays.

Hockey is a great sport, much more watchable on TV than soccer and baseball.

Agreed. NHL players are much more likeable and easier to identify with

Went to Vegas Knights game during their inaugural season. Had a better atmosphere than the two NBA playoff games I’ve been to. And nobody sitting next to me smelled like marijuana

VGK games are a blast. I love how T Mobile is right on The Strip but still set up so that you can get in and out fairly easily.

Your useless NBA trivia for today...when Kareem Abdul - Jabbar broke the all time NBA scoring record, it took place at the Thomas and Mack Center here in Vegas. The Utah Jazz played a few "home games" here that season.

The Atlanta Hawks used to play a few "home games" in New Orleans about that time as well, maybe to make up for the Jazz moving? Think they played at Lakefront Arena.

Anyway, Bird lit them up for 60 in one of the NO games. It was his career high in points.

I see you’re new here but I can tell you’re really going to love this site. The political talk board seems like a place you would really enjoy as well

My dad is from Michigan and lived there after Katrina. I was a big fan back between 2000-2010 but now I’m just a sidewalk fan more or less.

NHL hockey is great... the action is fast paced and they have hitting and checking into the boards. But just like any sport these days it’s way better with a packed house......And yes the players are way different and much better personalities than the NBA players are...... the NBA is a total joke.....

Yes, it was at UNO. Dominique Wilkins scored 36 and no one even noticed. I still enjoy how Bird had the Hawks bench falling all over themselves by game's end.

ETA: It was in April of 1985 and Bird's 60 points remains the Celtics' single game record.
