The frick

No, it isn't. Not for teams that are rebuilding.

Rebuilding teams want players in the first year of their rookie deals and draft picks. They want future assets. They want PRICE CONTROLLED contracts.

Why do you think they take on bad salaries (like let's say, Nic Batum this year) coupled with first round picks?

They want accumulated assets and talent that is price controlled.

They don't want average talent that has short term price control. They want to evaluate and develop their own talent for as long as they can.

I’m just baffled at how you refuse to acknowledge some very basic concepts that have been pointed out to you multiple times throughout the thread.

Ball and Ingram being “better” than the average draft pick does not make them more valuable than a draft pick. There’s significantly more that goes into it.

I still think we should just get a Ryno/AD swap and make everybody happy + stop debating. #BringRynoHome

By your own dumb argument, the Knicks should have no problem trading us the #1 pick because they are getting a sure thing over a wish and a chance.

Right?

ALL of the lakers' assets have salary issues impending very soon. that makes those assets highly volatile and possibly negative in value. the Pels won't even get a shot to properly evaluate them EVEN IF none demand the early max

Right now, it's a year and a half out. Ingram will have been in the league 4 years and Ball 3 by that point.

I disagree on pick value, given that they won't be top 8. Would I rather have options on Kuzma/Ball/Zubac or some late lottery picks...

This is from 2009, but a good meta analysis. Essentially, outside the top 10, you probably aren't getting a pick who will average double figures in scoring.

No you act as if Los Angeles is owed Anthony Davis and the Pels should be happy to accept whatever LA has to offer.

I'd rather let AD walk than let the Lakers succeed with the bullshite that has been pulled over the past two weeks.

Ya. That's cool. Just admit what this is all about: a futile attempt of payback

It's still an historically bad gamble. My only point
