Ghost,
you are a breath of fresh-air in this discussion.

Thanks. As much as I want the private schools to be treated equally, I realize private schools have some upsides that publics don't have. I will also say there is no way you could ever convince me that the upsides that public schools have aren't as equally good. This is a witch hunt designed to bring the level of competition down to the lower tier, not up to the higher tier.

The gap between public schools in this state is pretty amazing. The privates fall somewhere in the middle, though. Curtis is a powerhouse with absolute crap facilities. Chalmette HS has facilities that would make a Div 3 college be very jealous. Same with Dutchtown, some of the St Tammany schools, etc. On the other hand, you have public schools that can't afford uniforms and gym equipment.

Sounds like it's splitsville, and I don't mean separate brackets. Enjoy your LHSAA public schools. I'll be rooting for all the magnets and charters to crush your hopes and dreams.

56.5 percent supported no change. That's actually less than I though it was going to be. Which means 43.5 percent think there is a problem with the new split.

Welcome to Paul Rainwater, your new association commissioner. And see ya to Bonine, who will be offer to a less screwed up association.

Any chance that any private schools join the Mississippi private school association?

Several of the magnet schools will be playing in the select division. Scotlandville and Byrd are the first two that come to mind

It does, but it also kind of shows that the whole privates are so much more advantged than public is crazy.

They probably will be forced to play with the public schools. As much as we want to call this select vs non-select, the privates can leave, I don't believe the magnets and charters can.

Absolutely. And public schools with nice booster clubs and community support. It's all a hodge-podge

No point. Any given team in a league just using south LA catholic schools will be better than a MAIS all-star team.
