Ruston strikes out Pearson, intentionally walk Federico to load the bases. 2 outs, bases loaded, 4-3 Top 6 WM leading, Simpson at the plate. 2-0 count on 2 high pitches. 3-0 on 3 high pitches. 3-1 on a take. Ball 4, Simpson takes off, ball way off the plate…Blue calls strike 2. Welcome to baseball in 2024. Simpson lines out.

Gotta love Blue making it about him. Just emulating what they see on TV.

Ruston gets 2 on, both by HBP, but strands them. 4-3 WM Top 7

Another Rebel starts running on an obvious ball 4, another strike called by Blue. I’d stand there for 5 seconds after he called ball 4 from now on.

Arledge K, Roark double, Anderson 1-3 moves the runner to 3rd, Starr base hit scores him, Starr picked off. 5-3 WM bottom 7.

Barbe getting 38 power points x 3 by beating a school with 380 kids PreK-12, 112 kids 9-12 give or take by a combined score of 45-0 feels like a flaw in the system. 17 of that tiny schools 18 wins came against teams with losing records. The lone win against a team with a winning record is Marksville sitting at 15-14. So they could easily end up with zero wins against teams with winning records.

Not sure what you can do exactly to stop it though.

Ban S/NS 1’s from playing 5’s is a good start or at least not allow multiple games like that

Live Oak beat St. Amant 3-2 last night.

LO up to 3 this morning. Sam Houston at 4, St. Amant at 5, Dutchtown 6, and Mandeville at 7. Looks like roughly 0.6 points separates yall from us and Dutchtown. We just have Live Oak tomorrow, and Assumption on Monday. Dutchtown has one more game against EA tomorrow and then their regular season is done.

Yea if St Amant loses again to live oak and we both win out it’s going to be tight between 6 and 7 seed. I prefer 6 lol don’t want to travel to WM or either Barbe in the 3rd round

Yall can definitely move ahead of us if we lose tomorrow. Especially since yall still have Dunham and Holy Cross to play after tonight.

Sucks that mandeville isn’t getting enough love in the power ratings. Great ball club this year. I recognize a lot of those kids names from back in the day playing against one of my sons. Been a great age group of talent on the northshore over the last couple years.. could be wrong but it just seems they spread out the talent amongst a variety of schools and there just isn’t enough compared to LC and BR area

Coach Benoit and staff made a huge difference. This same team was 14-19 last year and we only lost 1 starter. They are having fun playing baseball this year the old coach sucked.

The dude is for real. You don't need to bash the old coach, everyone knew Brady was going to have success there - it was simply a question of when.

The old coach trashed kids arms and made them not like playing baseball and would make them run sprints and triangles for 30-45 minutes on the field after a loss I will trash him all day long

I've been trying to post, but it wouldn't allow me to see this thread for some reason. Pearson hits a 3 run bomb in the first and then a nothing burger from WM the next 5 innings. Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the 6th there was a play at the plate and a minor dust up. Seems that it fired up Ruston and they put up 6 in the Top of the 7th. If WM can't come back in the bottom of the inning, WM is in jeopardy of not hosting in the quarters. Already could drop from 1-3 even if they win out due to Barbe and Live Oak's last couple of games. Quickly 2 up and 2 out in the bottom of the 7th. Federico up
